Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, youíre greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Opened this bottle with a friend on Thanksgiving. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is pumpkin, bread, vanilla, and fresh cookies. Moderate carbonation bolsters this beer, but thereís some slickness to it that detracts from it a bit. Finishes with a little snap of bubbles. Good flavor profile with obvious pumpkin, though itís not as bold as some in the style. It melds well with vanilla sweetness, milk chocolate, light coffee. Well-rounded flavors that arenít pronounced in any one area. A pleasant bounty of holiday flavors. A good pumpkin beer, that isnít a one-trick pony. A nice Thanksgiving treat.

Pours a dark brown color with a small head. Aroma of roasted malts, pumpkin, spice and a little bit of cocoa. Taste has more chocolate with nuts and a nice rounded spice on the finish. Smooth beer.

22 oz bomber. Pours a deep brown with an amber hue and a one finger khaki head that leaves very good lacing. Aroma of cocoa, pumpkin, and vanilla. Taste is cocoa, pumpkin, vanilla, light spices (nutmeg, cinnamon). Long finish of cocoa and cinnamon. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy texture, average carbonation. Very easy drinker.

Pours black with ruby highlights, small tan head. Aroma is coffee and spices. 1st taste is a little vanilla and pumpkin, with spice hitting next and finishing with coffee bitterness. Not as much pumpkin as Iíd prefer. Find a Warlock instead if you can

Pours a dark brown color with tan head. Pumpkin pie spicing, cocoa, and some vanilla and roast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a bit of sweetness, but no too much.

Pours a dark brown color with a sweet chocolate aroma. Taste is bitter pumpkin, mixed with a squash flavor. A slight chocolate and coffee roast which seemed diluted by the vegetable pumpkin/squash mixture.

From a bottle in a tulip. Dark chocolate pour with non-persistent creamy tar colored head. Head lacing hangs to the finish of the glass. The rich flavor of coffee, chocolate and toasted malt. Subtle flavor of pumpkin and nutmeg as the beer warms and the fizz dissipates. There is a creamy silky mouthfeel with a bit of a smokey & spicy finish. Very tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from bottle into English pint. Pours a rich chocolate brown, khaki head about 1 finger tall. Height of head dissipates pretty quickly, but never goes away. Aroma - malt, chocolate, vanilla, and pumpkin spices. Taste - chocolate, coffee, dark malt, subtle sweetness from pumpkin with a touch of spice. Mostly this tastes like a porter, but the pumpkin and spices are subtle, but definitely present. Mouthfeel is a bit oily, carbonation is very fizzy on the tongue. Finish is short to medium length. Nice change of pace from the light pumpkin ale thatís everywhere.
