COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, youíre greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Bottle @ Brandonís house, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks! Dark brown appearance with a small tan head. Nice roasty pumpkin, chocolate, tea, spicy, vanilla aroma. Toasty, vanilla, chocolate/caramel malty, fairly spicy, pumpkin flavor.

Brown coloured body with little head. Just spice, perhaps a touch of pumpkin in the finish. Roasted coffee taste. Decent drinkability. Spiced out, pumpkined out.And the spices could have been better.Medium mouthfeel. Liamís bottle.

Tap at Paradiso Dupont. Epic edition. Clear amber pour with a small, off-white head. Nose is salted salami, cooked olives, very raw earthy notes like rotting flower pedals. Strange. Taste is odd salami meatiness, meaty, smokey, with last minute notes of cinnamon and pumpkin pie spices. Drier palate. Such a weird beer. Smoked pumpkin beer? Lightest SRM for a porter Iíve seen in awhile. Oops.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market Short Pump. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy tan head. Average head retention. Aroma of pumpkin spice, pumpkin and roasted malts. The taste is roasted malts, nutty notes, cinnamon, nutmeg and other spices and bitter hops. Medium bodied. Pretty decent.

Bottle. Pours with a deep brown hued, not quite black body with a very large, deep tan head. Tight carbonation, great lace and retention. Aromas of pumpkin seeds, chocolate, fresh baked bread, nutmeg, cinnamon, lightly vegital, clove, leather, lactose and graham cracker. Flavors are nutty and leathery with cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, lactose/milk sugar, and chocolate. Malty, pine and a bit spicy. Pumpernickel. On the drier side of things for a big porter. Odd but pretty tasty. Medium carbonation, medium to slightly sweeter finish. Full bodied. Spiced fudge.

This brew pours dark brown with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of chocolate malt and pumpkin. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, pumpkin, chocolate and hops. The finish is malty with a lingering pumpkin and bittersweet chocolate aftertaste. Above average overall.

2013-08-17. Aroma of dusty malt, spice, and nutty touches. 7+ Flavour has sweet malt core, light spice, and nutty touches as in the aroma. Not getting much in the way of pumpkin character, but I quite enjoy the spice quality. 7+ Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Campground Brewdown.

22oz bottle, Release #2: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing beige head. Has a lightly sweet toasty dark caramel and cinnamon nose with some pumpkin notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and toasty dark caramel malts with some earthy bitterness and spices before a drier lightly roasted bittersweet finish. Could use a little more pumpkin flavor, but otherwise pretty well balanced.

Bomber. Poured medium brown with a short, well-retained tan head. The aroma picked up competing, yet complementary vanilla, pumpkin, and chocolate notes with accents of nutmeg and cinnamon.. warmth brought out licorice to supplant some of the chocolate.. really nice! The flavor found tangy, well-roasted black malts and dark chocolate at the core, with vanilla taking over from there.. pumpkin meat and nutmeg accented well.. finished dry and very roasty along with more vanilla.. couldíve been an "8", but the malt lost some definition as the drink progressed. Medium-bodied, dry, and very roasty as mentioned on the palate.. the vanilla gave a savory component, and wasnít really sweet.. overall this worked well, and is something Iíd gladly drink again.
