COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed on: October 10, 2011. Packaged on October 25, 2011. Our first ever collaborative beer has all the familiar flavors of the season, but done with Epic style. To a base of strong, roasty, and chocolaty porter, we add 200 pounds of real pumpkin per batch, five spice and whole Madagascar vanilla beans. As you pour this deeply ruby brown beer, you’re greeted by the aroma of fresh cut squash, followed by rich chocolate. The flavor starts sweet with marshmallow, vanilla, and some pumpkin pie, then yields to a coffee roast and dark chocolate dryness. This beer is a great introduction for curious drinkers and a special holiday treat for fans of the style.

Belmont bottle, Release #3. This was pretty nice overall. It trended towards the sweeter side of pumpkin pie and not so much the spicy. Definitely the meaty portion of the pumpkin included. I liked it because it was not overpowering at any point.

Opened after Thanksgiving dinner of course. A very drinkable pumpkin beer with a great balance between the burnt malts and chocolate flavors along side the pumpkin. A little thin in the body with a small weak head. But overall, a nice porter with pumpkin accent. Good stuff.

As pumpkin beers go this is not bad. It was loaded with spices, there was also some vanilla, chocolate, earthy notes. I would have enjoyed this beer more if the spices were restrained a little, but overall a good beer.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear brown color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Toasted malt, pumpkin and spice aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy balanced pumpkin spice flavor with a medium dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good seasonal beer.

22oz Bottle Release #1 Imp pumpkin porter. Pours out a dark brown topped with a big tan head quickly going to a tan ring. Aroma of roast, light spice, nutmeg, card, and some pumpkin pie notes. Taste is more of the roast with a nice pumpkin pie spice at the end.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with medium head. Aromas of pumpkin for sure with chocolate, vanilla, spices, maltiness. Taste is a rich chocolate, pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves. A different pumpkin beer as the malts were the hero here. Actually I think this is my first pumpkin porter. Great finishing palate.

Opened this bottle with a friend on Thanksgiving. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is pumpkin, bread, vanilla, and fresh cookies. Moderate carbonation bolsters this beer, but there’s some slickness to it that detracts from it a bit. Finishes with a little snap of bubbles. Good flavor profile with obvious pumpkin, though it’s not as bold as some in the style. It melds well with vanilla sweetness, milk chocolate, light coffee. Well-rounded flavors that aren’t pronounced in any one area. A pleasant bounty of holiday flavors. A good pumpkin beer, that isn’t a one-trick pony. A nice Thanksgiving treat.

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle. Orange brown pour with a tan head. The aroma is full of nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin and chocolate. The flavor is very similar with a lot of chocolate and pumpkin notes up front. I also get some strong spice notes including cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
