3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 acblue (91) - Seattle, USA - APR 3, 2010
On tap at Epic Ales. Golden color with a very nice off-white head. Nicely floral hop aroma and flavor, not overwhelming and nicely balanced by the bittersweet malt. This is a pale that would kick the ass out of most offerings of may craft breweries, and it’s probably the weakest in the line. A true session ale with a complexity of character rarely seen in these times of extreme-beer-ridiculousness.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 5000 (4106) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 22, 2011
Bottle:   Deep amber, a little dirty, moderate to large frothy sandy colored head, heavy lacing.
Earthy aroma, a little soily, mushrooms and bark.   This one is a little odd.   Part of this smells like
stale air from a tire.   Has a woody aspect, and I dont mean like Oak, but moreso like actual bark or fallen
logs.   This is certainly different.   I really wished it had a little bit of sweetness.   Seems
slightly dry.   Backside has a large soily/earthen aspect.   It actually might be more plant like.
If this is supposed to be a Pale Ale, its wildly different from anything I have ever had.   Somewhat reminds
me of some of one of the Hitachino beers, somewhat like Cedar but in more of an earthy aspect.   The body and
mouthfeel on this one are fairly moderate.   Doesn’t appear to be very hoppy, but certainly has a malt aspect
to it.   I am having a hard time with this one... its not off flavors, its just very different.   I am all
for something new, but this is a little out of bounds for me.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CLevar (288) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 6, 2010
Bottle to taster. At Levi’s. From notes. Pours hazy, light straw in color, with a white diminishing head. Aroma is fruit, peach maybe, and lots of belgian yeast character. Bit of astringency on the tongue, but mostly yeast and some hop bitterness. Full bodied. Decent, but not what I expected.

22 oz bottle. Clear brown with a whipped bone head. Nose is pastry dough and yeast with a touch of Band-Aid. Resiny with a foamy mouthfeel and a medicinal finish. Taste is funky sweet and sour orange and grapefruit turning to Chloraseptic. Manages to be cloyingly sweet and bitter at the same time.

Received 22-oz bomber via trade with 5000. Pours a hazy amber brown colored brew with a thin beige head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of mostly yeast, spiced Ivory soap, apples and a hint of caramel. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of Belgian yeast, mild spice, cloves and a hint of caramel. Finish is semi-dry with a medicinal spicy aftertaste that slowly disappears.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 holdenn (1855) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2010

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 RCL (2025) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 16, 2010
Aroma is a bit bizarre - quite spicy. Flavor is weird, and I do not like it. The commercial description is probably as close as anything I could come up with, and yet it is not really like that. I have never had a beer that tasted like this, and I can see some people liking it, but I am not those people.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 arminjewell (3113) - Parker, Colorado, USA - AUG 16, 2010
Amber ale? Deep Belgian aroma, with some spices. Taste is belgian mostly, with a touch of spice, and a clean finish. Not simple, but fairly delicious. Nice brew!

Bomber.
Yeast and soap. Surely there was something wrong with this bottle. Instant drain pour.
