COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This crisp ale is a twist on the Belgian classic, the wit. The major difference being a change from wheat and oats to rice, and also switching from coriander and bitter orange peal to ginger and chamomile. This is an excellent beer for pre-dinner snacks to fish based dishes and salads. Ideal for a sunny afternoon or when you want to imagine its sunny outside.

12 oz bottle; clear orange gold with thin white head along the edges; spice and dry fruit on the nose with ginger, honey, orange peel, chamomile; light orange and a gingerbread type of flavor and sweetness; doesn’t have any of the mild funk that I remember from before; crisp, clean and light fruits and spice; mild vegi and ginger notes; dry spice on the finish; had a fruity berliner weisse kind of flavor before, so maybe fresher here or just different; dry wild flowers; flat mouthfeel and texture; a little citrus and coconut; I think it’s better than the bottle I have here, so will need to revisit

Aroma reminds me of Christmas cookies. Spices and a little lemon zest. Quite pronounced. Flavor is quite intense as well; quite tart.

2010-07-18. Hazy pastel orange body with a small off-white head. 3+ Very spicy aroma, floral and chamomile. 7+ Flavour is similar, spicy, herbal, touches of sweet citrus, hints of ginger, very light bitterness. Smooth average to light body. Interesting, bit odd. Not sure if I like it or not! Bottle from Bottleworks, Portland

Bottle [660ml] shared with HogTownHarry, jerc & mabel -- c/o j&m. Pours a very cloudy yellow-copper with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Aroma: Wow, that’s different, I definitely get chamomile and ginger along with some citrus fruit as well -- I like it. Flavour starts with ginger and then the chamomile kicks in, followed by citrus, yeast and some spices. Dry finish. Medium bodied. An interesting beer for sure, I quite liked it.

From the bottle, courtesy of Summer Secret Santa 2010, pours a hazy yellow orange with a quickly fading white bubbly head. Christmas-spicy aroma, some pine needles and cloves, ginger, and hippie-store. Taste is similar, light but kinda malty, ginger and similar spices are dominant, lightly bitter and sour finish. Interesting flavors, complex for sure.

In short: An full body, intense, very tart and moderately spicy witbier. Original and very nice
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed fresh (some time ago) a few days after receiving it from after4ever. Thanks a lot Tom
The look: Opaque glowing yellow body topped by a short-lived white head
In long: Nose is intensely camomile, with notes of lemon and garden flowers. Taste is very intense for the style. Very tart, lemon, green apples, some barnyard notes, lots of wheat, lots of yeast, garden flowers, spiciness, some fresh ginger. This is a full body beer nourishing beer. The camomile is very strong in the aroma but not over the top in the taste and in the mouth it translates into a garden flowers flavor. The first half of the bottle was better and more refreshing. The beer is very yeasty and the second half of the bottle was getting a bit muddy. That was a nice relaxing moment. Bice summer day, slowly drinking and rating a tasty witbier, enjoying the sun and the voices in my head just whistling a catchy song.

Thanks to Exiled for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very spicy with some ginger, cinnamon and something which I guess is the chamomile. The flavor is cinnamon, flowers and ginger. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. There is a lot going on in this beer but it all seems to work fairly well together.
