What do you expect from a strongish, dark IBA? This, probably. Dark and toastie. Beer somewhat confused re: origin. Alternately IBA and IPA.

Dark, smokey and bitter without an aftertaste and a good head, this is an enjoyable winter beer without hitting the spot.

Bottle, 6.8% ABV. Dark brown with a large beige head. Pleasant but slightly subdued aroma with citrus, some chocolate and roast, nectarines and pine. Medium bodied, moderate to high carbonation. Lots of citrus and some Sichuan pepper and licorice, peach, a little roast and cocoa - enough to make it clear that it’s not coloured black, not a lot more. Pretty good but not as vibrant as I’d hoped.

Nice dark brown/ruby color. Floral hops on the nose. Nice hoppy fruitiness up front, gives way to long bitter malty finish. Epic does it again.

500ml bottle pours a thick black color with a bit of frothy head. Lots of roasted malt and medium hop bitterness. A little hop harshness.

My first black IPA, and will not be my last. Aroma like a traditional IPA, medium body. Resin, spruce, black colour with small head
