Inspired by west Coast IPA’s on a trip to San Diego for the World Beer Cup and a part of an IPA showdown with Hallertau Brewery . Only 1000 litres of this insane hop joy have been created. The rumour has started that Epic Armageddon IPA is "the sole reason there is a global hop shortage".

Another great NZ beer, over hopped, but bitterness is still within the good limits for me. Not quite as fruity as others, but a great depth to the citrus & leafy notes

This brew pours a clear orange-gold color with a medium foamy white head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of hops and fruit, plus some sweet malt. Medium body and moderately bitter with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and malt. The finish is hoppy with a lingering grapefruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pours a beautiful golden copper color with great clarity and lively carbonation with compact bubbles rising to a two-finger off-white head which has average retention. Head leaves a generous amount of splotchy, sticky lacing as it dissipates. Aroma is very juicy and citrusy; mainly bitter grapefruit peel and pith, with some lighter sweet orange. It is very bright, clean and pleasant. Some pine and grass hop aromas. Hints of yeasty bread and a raisiny element underneath with the faintest caramel sweetness as the beer warms a little. Taste very close to its aromas. Extremely floral, the citrus grapefruit and a light touch of passion fruit cuts through the caramel malt foundation nicely. The first sip fades into a luscious hop flavor of rare intensity and complexity. Taste is a balanced mixture of hops, citrus, pineapple, lemon, pine and some dryness. There was only a mild bitterness to this one. Nicely carbonated. Light to medium body, but highly carbonated with prickly bubbles on the tongue. A well-crafted IPA, that is surprisingly easy to drink. Well balanced and slightly less bitter than many American versions. However, the steep price would keep me from enjoying this more often.

wow, clear brew.little carbonation. yellow amber colour. hoppy pine cones, floral hops but it also has a weird reduced cream of corn note. Medium bodied brew with some leafy hop notes, some weird spicy note on my tongue, and, unfortunately, not much else. I find it boring.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear, light amber/orange with light orange head that’s a little short. Lots of grapefruit and tangerine with an overlay of fresh spruce. The faintest hint of light malt. Holy fuck! This is a weird beer on the palate. There’s a salty, bitter assault up front with some hops and pale malt across the middle. Finishes with a terribly off-balance bitter, tart, saltiness that goes on for way too long. So disappointing after the nose. There’s a weird rancid licorice taste up front too. Gah!

500ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a 2 finger white head that has excellent retention and leaves some pleasing lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and grass with some toasted grains. Taste is bold citrus and grassy hop bitterness with an underlying malty sweetness that balances this brew out nicely. Medium body with plenty of carbonation to leave a nice bite on the palate. A very nice india pale ale that was definitely worth sampling.

Clear amber poor with white head that laces the glass. Full on floral slightly bitter aroma. Really enjoyable beer. Will be going back to for sure over these colder winter months.
