COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the beginning, there was Armageddon. Then an impish brewer put the beer in new oak barrels to age it for 8 weeks. This was to reproduce the original IPA of the 18th century. It may be too huge for this fragile planet so enjoy this beer like it was the last one on Earth.

500ml bottle. This one was not as big and bold as I expected it to be however it was still very good. Shimmery hazy golden amber colour with a softish sand coloured head. Big full in your face hop aroma gets the senses going. Long lasting aftertaste is almost medicinal and vinegary tart. For value for money I believe that Epic’s Armeggedon IPA is better value. This still hits the spot though and it is quite a good beer.

Wonderful drinking IPA. Nothing special looking, a little head on yellow coloured body. More wood than hop aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, great drinkability. The hoppiness was there, it was terrifically well rounded. Bottle from Premiere Gourmet, thanks for picking up Jon.

Pours a clear gold-green with a fluffy white head. Aroma is spicy, citrus, fruit, sweet, bread. Taste is slightly sour, mild, citrus, pine, orange zest. Not at all what I was expecting. Medium carbonation; nice mouth feel.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Purs slightly orange tinged gold with an off-white head. Aromas of floral and oak. And tropical fruit. Med + body. Flavor is fruity, oaky and mildly astringent. Refined.

marcus (5005) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 16, 2012
Bottle from Star Grocery. Pours dark golden with a thin off-white head and a musty oak aroma. There is a slightly astringent citrus flavor over a heavy caramel malt background with a hint of tropical fruit. There is a sharply bitter finish. Quite complex for an IPA.

Strange flavor here. I doubt this is fresh. Get an annoying tangy flavor, with maybe some unpleasant herbalness.

Pours clear pale orange color with off white head. Citrus and lemon aromas with some oak. Lemon and oak flavors with some crystal malt. Medium body with average carbonation. The oak and lemony hops work well together. A nice beer to try but too expensive to have again.

Bottle with a best before date of August 2nd, 2012. Pours with a clear, lighter golden hued body and a just barely off-white head. Good lace and retention. Aromas are fruity, hoppy, grapefruit, citrus zest, tangerine, lots of saw dust, spicy oak and vanilla. The citrus and oak come together with a slight metallic twang. Christmas tree. Light caramel malt. Flavors are green, oaky, spicy, citrusy. Some nice bready malt, vanillin and sawdust. Some under ripe orange. A bit metallic towards the finish. Lively bubbles, lightly tannic, dry.

The aroma is a mix of dry pine and a fruity/mustiness. The flavor is heavy on the grapefruit, very much like grapefruit juice along with a deep hoppiness and bitterness into the finish. Most of the times when IPAs have a grapefruit flavor to it, its more of a hint but this was more direct, a pretty good IPA overall.
