COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When Kiwis first started brewing their own beer in the late 19th century, it was modelled on the IPAs imported from the Motherland by ship. This is what we used to drink before industrialisation, prohibition-pleasing law reform and rationalisation turned beer into a one-dimensional mass-produced commodity. At the dawn of the 21st century a brave new age of brewing is bringing back flavour and rediscovering the popular beers that time forgot. Whatls old is new again. Enjoy it like it was your first time.

Bottle. Clear amber with a small white head that’s soon less than a coat. Aroma of caramel, pears, peaches, flowers. Smells very English. Medium bodied, lowish carbonation. Moderate sweetness with caramel and fruit, firm peppery bitterness with some other spice like mace in at the end. Just my sort of thing.

BOLTZ7555 (2823) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAR 19, 2014
Dark 24 karat/copper pour with hints of scarlet and a small ivory crown that diminishes to a ring and leaves spotty lacing inside the glass. That’s about as good as it gets. Mild citrus and honey aroma...almost non-existent. Flavor shows a malty fruitiness along with slight pine and burnt orange. Average at best.

500 ml bottle from super liquor. Pours orange brown kinda like ginger beer with good head that fades a little. Toffee and sweet roasted malt aroma. Sharp taste with cutting aftertaste a little too acidic for my palate. Notes of caramel and chocolate linger. Reminds me of a desert.
