4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thank you, Jesus!!! Release #18. Rich, complex aroma of coffee, chocolate, and brown bread. Tastes like a dark chocolate covered espresso bean at first, but as it warms up to room temp, the bourbon and heat really come out. I've been baptized in the thick, black, boozy blood! A heavenly imperial stout.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2014 bomber of batch 25 at 10.6% abv thanks to the Epic guys! This is seriously good. The aroma packs a rich, real coffee punch with smooth dark chocolate underneath. A little boozy rum and brownies come out too. The palate is nice and heavy. Itís hot in the best of ways, like a fine spirit, but definitely not in the forefront. True, full coffee beans manifest in the flavor with cacao nibs providing the perfect balance. Palate is slick and heavy. Honestly, this is one of the best imperial stouts Iíve had in a while. Itís rich, complex, bold, not too obviously alcoholic and the coffee adds amazing depth.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ Uber. Pours thick inky brownish black with thin mocha head. Aroma is sweet dark chocolate and fresh coffee. Taste is similar: dry very roasty chocolate malt, with dark cocoa and coffee flavors dominating. Substantial hops keep the sweetness in check. Hard not to like this. If I had to nitpick... the flavors are a bit one dimensional, doesnít have the barrel-aged depth that many other imperial stouts do.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black body with an adequate chocolate head that almost instantly folds and fades into a ring. Smooth and plunging deep depths of chocolate and coffee, like chocolate covered espresso beans, and a veinous note work their olfactory magic. While the body starts off on a rougher note, high-quality coffee ground notes soon shape up nicely. Immense roast barley influence throughout. Excellent stuff.
