22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a deep mahogany brown color with a small fine beige head. The aroma opens with an explosion of strong coffee followed by bourbon, cocoa, and barrel notes. The flavor is all coffee at first. Once past the first taste though other notes come out like roast, cocoa, bourbon and general alcohol heat. This is a big beer that could probably benefit with some age. However, I did enjoy this fresh.

Draught. Thin beige head, blacker than black colour. Chocolate and cocoa with some barrel notes. Chocolaty finish with notes of malt. But not overly malty.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
The beer pours black in color with a finger of tan head. There is a huge coffee aroma to this. Quite a bit of oak with just a mild vanilla note. Some nice bourbon to go with roasted malt and brown sugar. The flavor has a touch of licorice and molasses to go with vanilla, bourbon, and chocolate. Really solid mouthfeel as well.

Bottle. Pours motor oil black with thin tan head. Huge aroma of coffee. Wow the coffee. Tons of coffee bitterness in the flavor. Minimal to no bourbon. Great coffee stout but cannot pick up much from the barrel. If you like coffee, this is a must try. I like coffee so this is yummy.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle… Pours black with a small, fizzy, beige head. The bouquet is a swirl of dark chocolate, black tea, coffee beans, vanilla and hint of coconut. Medium to full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. The flavor is exceptionally chocolaty with burnt, boozy and bitter components as well. Finishes carbonic, bitter, bourbony and red hot. A good effort that could use a lot more time in the cellar. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured into a snifter from a 650ml release #1 bottle.
A: Pitch black body with a very thin tan head leaving a thin ring.
S: Very prominent coffee aroma with a balanced backing of cocoa, bourbon, oak and vanilla. Semi-sweet and the cocoa is more forward as it warms up.
T: Coffee forward but a bit thin and watery up-front, slight cocoa throughout with light bourbon finish. Oak comes in a bit more as it warms up during the mid-taste but isn’t pushy like some barrel aged beers can be. Well balanced.
M: Full-bodied but a bit lean at the same time. Light carbonation.
O: I’m impressed with this, it’s a coffee stout done right. The oak and bourbon are well balanced and blends well to accent the flavors. Tasty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black pour with a bit of tan head. Nose of whiskey, vanilla, and roasted malt. Strong coffee flavor with some alcoholic heat and a smooth chocolatey finish. The barrel aging is wonderfully done.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ in Long Beach. It pours black with a light brown head. The aroma is bursting with dark chocolate and espresso. The flavor has espresso beans, dark chocolate and some nuts and toffee with very mild bourbon and barrel notes. Soft, full mouthfeel. Loved this one.
