Bomber bottle, #8. Aroma is very coffee and dark malt. Maybe a little sweet smell from the bourbon. The appearance is black with a tan head. The taste starts coffee and cocoa nips and finishes dark malt covered by coffee. I hardly get any whiskey in the flavor. The palate is ok. Overall, a really good beer. Would buy if i could. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Release #10. Huge dark espresso nose and spicy dried dark red chili. Thick, oily. Maybe this needs some time to come together, but it was pretty simple at this point. Just a big dark roast coffee bomb with a little bit of chili spice. The coffee elements are just like those in KBS which I tasted side by side and I get why others cited a similarity, but the KBS had a lot more going on. Good beer and pretty good value.

Barely deserves this way too much coffee and not enough porter, oh man way too intense

Big chalky cocoa, espresso and coffee bean aroma. Solid black with no foam whatsoever. Enormous chalky texture with flavors of toffee, cocoa thins, coffee beans and vanilla. Alcohol is extremely well masked. Overall, this is a perfectly balanced beer with advanced complexity and perfect balance. Iíd give this an A+ rating.

Not sure which batch this is. I liked it though. Black, as one would expect. Brown head. I get a lot of coffee - surprise! No, really. Some woody notes, to. Flavor is coffee, dark chocolate and subtle oaky flavors. Really tasty stuff..

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home on Christmas eve. Pours black with a tan head. Chocolate and chocolate dominate the nose A cacophany of flavors: oak, vanilla, bourbon, cocao, coffee, and dark fruits. Nice.

THis might just be the ícleanestí tasting Impy I have ever had. THe coffee character is big on this, not hugely roasty, but high on projection of flavour. Big streamlined coffee roast nose with some chocolate. Donít get too much bourbon, but it become more noticeable a it warms. Similar flavours in the mouth with some added Vanilla. Gets creamier and more bourbon flavour as it warms. Seemingly like a collection of flavours rather than an integrated whole.

Little to no barrel characteristic in the nose or taste, just coffee and dark chocolate ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this one multiple times, finally getting to rate it when GatorGuy92 brought it to a tasting. Cheers, Matt! Pours a hazy stout brown with a tan head. Nose is roasted malts, big chocolate, dust, some oak, some whiskey, and some coffee. Flavor is similar with chocolate, coffee, roast, earth, whiskey, and cocoa. Medium in body and nice overall.

Release #9... I have had this beer both on tap and from the bottle and have to say itís incredible. Initial aroma is that of chocolate but once you take it in a bit more it becomes more and more coffee like. I have a few aging and will respond 10 months when I think itís ready.
