Bottle. Dark black pour with small khaki head. Didnít taste much whiskey at all. Very nice and heavy coffee notes. Great body. Not what I was expecting but a very nice beer.

Bottle. Very dark. Starts with lots of dark chocolate and coffee and finishes with a whiskey finish. The transition is quite pleasant. Heavy, dark, and complex.

Bottle. Moderate whiskey nose. Some chocolate and coffee. Moderate light brown head. Moderate vegetal to bell pepper flavor. Almost peppery. Unpleasant with some alcohol warming. Not a fan.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours thick black with minimal lacing. The aroma is coffee and dark malts. The taste has a good coffee flavor with some cocoa with little carbonation. Overall a great beer.

Great looking beer very dark with a dark head. A big roasted coffee smell. Not as strong of a scent as I was expecting from the bourbon barrels. Taste matches the smell. Really nice coffee taste. Very easy drinking. I really liked it.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2015 Bottle: [Release #11] Thanks, Kevin! Black pour, fairly thick & viscous looking with a slowly rising, tan head that doesnít last for long before asserting to a thin collar. Aroma has a super roasty, French press type coffee beanery thing going on; big , voluptous coffee notes with underlying char, ash, & some bitter cocoa. I get literally no bourbon or barrel, but it still smells very nice. Taste is the same way - big notes of roast (though not as bitterly roasted as the aroma may indicate) with creamy coffee, mild tart raisins, cocoa dust, & some roasted, finishing bitterness. Again, essentially no bourbon or oak, aside from perhaps a very mild astringent tannic note in the aftertaste. Very nice stout overall, best thing Iíve had from Epic by far.

On tap at Epic. Pours jet black. Huge coffee aroma. Sweet with hints of vanilla. Not much to the barrel aging, huge expresso and coffee notes with a nice bitter malty backbone. A bit of oak, vanilla, and booziness comes out as it warms.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bottle- pours pitch black with medium tan head . Big roasty espresso aromas with mild alcohol. Flavors of dark roast coffee , chocolate and very faint whiskey. Like eating a chocolate covered espresso bean . Moderate sweetness with lingering bitter finish . Really good .

22oz bottle. Pours jet black with almost no head at all. Tastes like burnt coffee. Getting some chocolate but not much. I like coffee but it's too prominent in this beer.

Bomber to snifter. Absolutely delicious. Dark pour with coffee and booze in the aroma. Huge chocolate flavor. More chocolate milky sweetness than coffee. Awesome whiskey bite. Love this.
