On tap at hops and pie. Standard imperial stout appearance: motor oil. Filmy head. Aroma was the most glorious coffee beans, so rich with a dab of chocolate. The flavor followed suit and was just as nice. Overall this was a fantastic beer and I need to score some bottles of this stuff or else head back for another glass. UPDATED: DEC 25, 2013 Big thanks to motortoddhead. Black pour with off-white head. Amazing nose of smokey/green/earthy/salty coffee, chocolate, and faint vanilla. Flavor is lightly-smoked coffee beans, salted dark chocolate bars, and light vanilla cream. Palate is surprisingly middle-of-the road, which makes this extremely drinkable. Nice smoky, roast coffee finish. Beautifully complex and extremely tasty. Re-rate: Very rich. Especially toasty coffee and buttered chocolate. Missing salty/smoky feel of aged version. Reality rate -0.5.

Bottle: Jet black with a brown head. Wonderful aroma of bitter sweet chocolate, prunes, yeast, warm carboard, Whoppers and a tiny bit of coconut. Smooth flavor, coffee, chocolate, and sweet pitted fruit. A perfect blend of sweet and bitter.

22oz bottle, Release #9, 11.3% ABV. Smallish brown head atop viscous cola-black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee/roast, some chocolate syrup. Taste is moderately sweet, coffee, some cocoa. Bourbon really only comes out in the finish (a positive attribute here). Alcohol noticeable but not overpowering. Sticky medium-full body.

Bomber into snifter. Black with small tan head. Nose is dominated by coffee, booze, and roasted malt. Taste opens sweet with smooth, the low carbonation of this beer is very apparent at this point. Middle is all coffee and the finish is smooth and sweet. The coffee is not dominant in this beer but it still dominates the flavor if that makes any sense. What I mean is there just isnít a hell of a lot else going on, was this beer actually bourbon barreled? Where is the roast? Donít get me wrong, this is a nice beer, there is nothing offensive about it, its just not what you would expect out of a 12.5% bourbon barrel stout. I do think the low carbonation suites it well and the body is medium.

Espresso aroma, pours a thick black color, no head, beer sticks to the glass. Mostly coffee flavor and chocolate. Excellent.

Crushed on tap at Liquids and Solids. Pours pitch black with almost no head. Coffee and bourbon dominate the aroma. Flavor is roasty malt with more coffee, slight vanilla, and chocolate. Pretty sexy.

Bottle. Pours a thick and almost-black color with effectively no head. Strong coffee notes to the nose that arenít harsh at all - just inviting. Taste has some amazing chocolate and coffee tastes to it, and just feels so smooth. AMAZING beer.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ. It is dark brown in the glass with a light brown head. The aroma has chocolate bourbon and a sweetness like caramel or candy. The flavor has coffee, chocolate and some vanilla. The beer is extremely rich and smooth. Hope I can find some bombers.
