From a bottle in a snifter. Pours almost completely opaque except for the very edges, black to dark brown with small light brown head fading to almost soapy bubbles. I can smell the coffee before I even take a whiff, dark chocolate, whisky, smoke, earthy, walnuts. Oily texture, full bodied, slightly warming, soft carbonation. Sweet moving to a long more balanced finish, with some hints of bitterness. More coffee, some dried fruits, cocoa, very earthy. Fantastic beer.

Bottle at RBBWG shared by Benzai, thank you sleeping man! Coffee, espresso, bitter, vert high capuccino. Quite awesome but if you don't like coffee you won't like this.

Bottle poured into a snifter. Release 40
Big Bad Baptist pours black with a thick creamy dark brown head that lasts a good while. The aroma is coffee, chocolate, woods and whiskey. It’s nice! The flavor is heavy coffee with some chocolate and a touch of caramel. The whiskey and wood then shine and the coffee and whiskey carry the aftertaste. Overall this is freakin’ fantastic!

22 oz bottle, release # 38. Poured a dark brown, pretty much black with a thin tan head and a small amount of lacing. Tasted heavy of coffee and dark chocolate, notes of vanilla, dark fruit, oak, and dark roared malts with a bitter finish. Medium carbonation, thick body. If you love coffee, then this one’s for you

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2/1/2015. 22 oz. bottle. dark brown with a tan head. Coffee aromas, chocolate, roasted malt and hints of bourbon. Mostly coffee flavors, hints of alcohol. The bourbon is muted, which is not bad in my book. The mouth feel is a bit light which is surprising for a beer like this, but overall an awesome stout.

Aucune subtilité dans l’intensité du café dans celle-là. Pour le support malté, c’est plus que décent, malts rôtis, mélasse, lactose et autres fêtards.

Looks like the bottle says Release # 40 11.5% but I didn’t but it very long ago, must be #27. The aroma is coffee, roasty, hints of chocolate. Pours black with tan brown head, mostly diminishing, good lacing. The taste is sweet/sour then bitter. The body is medium to full, the texture creamy, the carbonation average and the finish long. Very good!

Draft. Not sure of the release number, but Glendale Tap listed it as 11.5% ABV. Big aroma of dark chocolate. (I got less coffee on the nose than other reviewers.) Flavor was of a thick chocolate drink served cold, with some notes of espresso, vanilla and some fig. Clean finish. No hint of alcohol. Pretty magnificent.
