4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
650 ml. release #45, 10.9% abv. Pours opaque black with a thin film of cream. Nose of dark chocolate, espresso, caramel and earthy roasted peanut. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, toasted barrel, peanut, whiskey and espresso. Heavy body has a dangerously drinkable balance and a smooth medium carbonation. Awesome dessert beer that’s way too chuggable.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Incredibly solid and pleasant brew. Poured into a stemmed pils glass from a growler pull.
Thickly bourbon and coffee on the nose with some sweetness lingering not too ft behind. Obsidian black in the glass with minimal head in part because of the time in a growler (2-2 1/2 weeks, but unopened).
Some bourbon and tobacco on the palate, with plenty of dark coffee to boot. Goes down smoothly with a pleasantly high effervescence that definitely helps this brew.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours opaque black, medium tan head, dissipates leaving decent lacing. Aroma is rich, cocoa and coffee, molasses, ashtray. Flavor is hella ashtray, deep deep raosted malts with hints of smoke, baking cocoa, molasses and a vanilla finish, graham crackers. Light plus sweet, fully bitter. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Not a lot of bourbon here, but pretty damn solid nonetheless. Somewhat hot.

My favorite beer of all time and probably one of the most complex beers you’ll have. The aroma is smooth and chocolaty. The appearance is velvety and has a great foamy, smooth head. The taste is outstanding with a perfect balance between cocoa, coffee, and bourbon. This is a definite must try if you ever go to Epic... and an incredible beer for cold, snowy days.

Amazing aroma! Chocolate, tobacco, coffee, slight sweetness. Yummy. Pours a thick black with a thin rapidly dissipating khaki head and no lacing. The taste is strong coffee, chocolate, tobacco, hints of wood and citrus. Wonderful. Medium-full body and medium carbonation. Overall, this was a robust satisfying stout. Well done Epic.
