Release #13. A good imperial stout. Love the bottle, nice design. Aroma and taste are quite a bit sweeter than I thought it would be. The palate not as thick, but still a wonderful beer - quite quite good.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
In short: A dirty roasted stout with weird off flavors. Bad.
How: Bottle 22oz, release #3 at 11.4%, consumed when probably around one year of age.
The look: Black body topped by a very small tan head.
In long: Nose is highly roasted with a strange sensation of burnt green organic matters (vegetables & plants). Pleasant mouthfeel with a body that is full but not heavy because it is generously carbonated. Taste is dominated by a flavor of burning cigarette, a feeling of chewing a lit cigarette with its ashy top. A excessive roast level going the way of boiled asparagus. Then other burnt stuff and also some black liquorice, green earthy plants. Alcohol is very well hidden. I often complain about the sweetness and booze in impy stouts, this time for a change I find Bad Baptist keeps the sweetness and booze pleasantly in check but did everything else wrong. I really didnít like this beer at all, at least not this batch #3. Not sure what a Bad Baptist is, but I know Good Baptists do not consume alcohol after the caucasian Baptish Church founders realized consuming alcohol could lead to the horrifying sight of white people dancing.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a pitch black with a gei finger kakhi head with nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bakers choolate, whiskey, burnt sugar, molasses, licorice, anise, and some light booze. Taste is about the same as the aroma with the additio of some vanilla notes and maybe a little more booze. Has full mouthfeel with creamy, oily mouthfel and a semi bitter, long, slighty boozy finish. Overall, a tasty BA imp. stout that could use a little less booze.
