UPDATED: MAY 11, 2013 On tap at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange at the epic meet and greet as part of Kalamazoo beer week. Black pour into snifter. Dark brown head, cocoa colored. Strong sweet cocoa And strong cold brewed coffee scent, a little sweet malt. Thick, very full flavor. A little chalky mouth feel. Lots of roasted malt flavor, strong cocoa, sweet molasses. Sweet finish with just a tinge of bourbon/alcohol effervescence. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle at the ISKTR 2016, Hervanta, Finland. 11.7%. #39. SLC #2142. Courtesy of tiong.
Black color with a small tan head. Chili, coffee, roasted malt and vegetables in the aroma. Strong roasted malt, sweetness, vanilla and coffee in the flavor. Rich.

Pours very thick and dark with a thin caramel head. Strong aromas of espresso coffee and dark chocolate are immediately present; same goes for taste. Looks like burnt oil. Taste of coffee, dark chocolate, roasty burnt toast, with a little vanilla and some dried fruits way back. Really good beer, reminds me of the Rasputin and Narwhal, both great beers. Alcohol is present throughout.

@ISKTR 2016. Release #39, SLC 2142.

65 cl bottle (11.7% abv) @ ISKTR 2016. Release #39. Bottled on 20.10.2014.
Pours black color with a reddish tint and a small off-white head. Cocoa and coffee on the nose, mild bourbon, ash, tobacco, wood. Flavor is chocolate, bitter coffee, mild chili (maybe old coffee), cocoa, vanilla, licorice and bourbon dry notes, subtle chili maybe on the finish. Refined, the coffee might have gone old already.

650ml bottle @ ISKTR. Pours pitch black with a small bubbly light brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, coffee, cocoa, bourbon, vanilla and chocolate, hints of vegetables and spices. Taste is sweetish, roasty and oaky with some bourbon, coffee, cocoa and chocolate. Finish is heavy with some roastiness, licorice, coffee, chocolate, bourbon, cocoa and vanilla, hints of syrup. Quite heavy.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a snifter. Very dark brown with a minimal brown head that quickly dissipates to a thin film. Aroma is immediately roasted coffee and cocoa, but surprisingly none of the alcohol (12.7% ABV) comes through. Full body and thick on the palate and just the right amount of stickiness. At first very sweet, but then has a nice, long and increasingly bitter finish. Very slight alcohol warmth comes through at times in a pleasant way.
