Release #10. Poured into a snifter out of a 22oz bomber. Pours inky black with just a small dark tan head that fades to a ring around the side of the glass. Pretty decent lacing considering the abv. Coffee is quite prominent in the aroma with hints of dark chocolate. Lots of roasted malt that seems slightly burnt. There is vanilla and just the slightest hint of whiskey buried way in the background. The coffee carries big time into the flavor mixed nicely with cocoa creating almost a mocha character. Lots and lots of heavily roasted malt that borders on being a bit acrid and charred. There is still just a little bourbon in the background that I wish was a little more prominent. Nice vanilla and caramel touches too. The alcohol is well hidden with just a slight warmth in the back of the throat with a creamy and just slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, a very tasty imperial stout but one that is not quite Earth-shattering. I donít know if I would go out of my way to pick this up but if you do come across it, it is worth drinking.

Shared in red solo cups under the shelter on a beautiful Thursday. Opaque black with a thin tan head. Hard to tell much else. Aroma is awesome, cocoa powder, coffee, dark roast, a bit of vanilla. Taste is good but less of a superstar compared to the nose. Thereís whisky heat, cocoa and roasted malt sweetness, and coffee bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, moderate carbonation, some heat and bitterness on the finish.

Bomber from the Brewery. My understanding is that this beer is a barrel aged version of their Jack Mormon with some minor changes. Pours a totally black hue with a medium brown/orange colored head. The aroma is a massive blast of coffee; sweet, milky and rich. Light vanilla as well. The flavor is also initially dominated by a very rich slightly bitter and mostly milky and sweet coffee, some later richness of vanilla and bourbon, even some dark fruit shines through. Fairly dry. Light butterscotch and caramel. The coffee is so aggressive it outshines some of the other aspects which are very nice including the barrel. As your palate adjusts the barrel is much stronger and it is overall a robust and rich BA Impy. Nice job guys.

Bottle from a friend in Utah. Not much head, could my pour. Great black darkness and nice lacing. Dark roasted coffee bean aroma with chocolate. Nice roasted bitterness on the tongue. Finishes with chocolate, nice a smooth.

I was blown away by this beer! A big sniff of this beer filled my nose with a large dose of oak followed by slight coffee and chocolate notes. It looked dark like an imperial stout should. It tasted slightly sweet with strong coffee notes. I had it in Denver which might be the reason the coffee stood out. It also tasted like chocolate, and dark malt. The finish was a slightly whiskey flavored. Overall, a great beer.

Coffee roast aroma. Black color with tan head. Deep roasted coffee flavors that balance well with the big malt body. Notes: on tap at the Denver Bicycle Cafe, by recommendation of Norvo Coffee ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draught at BeerMongers. Deep black color. Aroma is coffee, cocoa nibs, and vanilla. Taste is similar to aroma, with some spice added. Really well balanced and flavorful.

Keg at Aces & Ales, Las Vegas. Black, tan head shrinks to a ring. Massive bourbon nose, though not super-boozy. Not much else. Big sweet dark toffee and bourbon, with bitter cocoa and coffee, and some tannic woody dryness. First sip I wasnít convinced but itís a grower.
