Release #10. Poured into a snifter out of a 22oz bomber. Pours inky black with just a small dark tan head that fades to a ring around the side of the glass. Pretty decent lacing considering the abv. Coffee is quite prominent in the aroma with hints of dark chocolate. Lots of roasted malt that seems slightly burnt. There is vanilla and just the slightest hint of whiskey buried way in the background. The coffee carries big time into the flavor mixed nicely with cocoa creating almost a mocha character. Lots and lots of heavily roasted malt that borders on being a bit acrid and charred. There is still just a little bourbon in the background that I wish was a little more prominent. Nice vanilla and caramel touches too. The alcohol is well hidden with just a slight warmth in the back of the throat with a creamy and just slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, a very tasty imperial stout but one that is not quite Earth-shattering. I donít know if I would go out of my way to pick this up but if you do come across it, it is worth drinking.

From Brewcraft. Had after Matt came back after a month away. Inky black, thin tan creamy bubbly head, spotty legs. Smells of heavy coffee, chocolate, smoke/ash, plum, boozy woody bourbon. Nose is very nice, almost like a black IPA. Taste is very bitter, a bit herbal, moderate spicy malt, bitter finish. Body is thick, slightly syrupy, spicy. A rare barrel aged stout that isn't too cloying or heavy. Really nice, with a lot of coffee and bitterness.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Dark dark dark brown pour with sticky tan head. Aroma is big roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Some dried fruit too but not overpowering. Rich rich palate. Almost too rich but it works. Taste is bold roasted bitterness - coffee, dried fruit, some fresh fruit or berry flavors too, surprisingly. Quite boozy and sharp, but rounded out by vanilla toffee sweetness. Really good. Very much on the rich sticky palate side but still works. Great big stout.

Bomber to tulip. Finally got ahold of this one. Pours black as night with a tiny almond head that runs away like it stole something. This smells like wood, coffee, and booze dunked in chocolate. It tastes similar with little alcohol burn and a nuttiness from the coffee in this batch. Really smooth beer. Dig it the most. Grab some of you see it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells divine. Coffee, dark chocolate, oak and booze. Everything I like. It also looks perfect. Pitch black with barely any foam. The little bit of head that does show through is a light tan color. Tastes like everything that is in the aroma. Some booze in the flavor, virtually no booze burn in the aftertaste. Plate is good, but I could have used a little thicker and creamier. This is an excellent imperial stout, on par with some of the most expensive and exclusive I have ever tasted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Release #13 deep dark chocolate pour. Coco, figs and star anise I can detect with some vanilla and some nice barrel aging. Love it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A 22oz bomber from release batch #46 with a brew date of 24th September 2013 and a packaged date of 8th December 2014 and poured into a snifter glass. The beer poured an opaque black colour with a one finger brown head that dissipated fairly quickly leaving a thin whispy layer and spotty lacing. Strong aromas of chocolate mixed in with coffee, caramel and vanilla. There is also a hint of whisky alcohol aroma. Taste is much like the aroma. Chocolate and espresso coffee dominate followed by hints of slightly burnt caramel and vanilla. There is also some roasted malts and oakiness but not a lot of whisky even though its aged in whiskey barrels. Full bodied, light carbonation, smooth. Overall, Iím a sucker for coffee, whisky and beer (my three favourite drinks). Now put together into a single drink, although the whisky is not so prominent here, this brew is fantastic. Itís right up there with Founders Breakfast Stout and Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break. Another must buy beer to add to my list.

660ml bottle at home, version 12.1% ABV. Black color with beige brown head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, milk chocolate, cocoa, light coffee, spicy - like cinnamon or nutmeg, light wood and alcohol, vanilla, dark fruits. Sweet and bitter taste, chocolate and cocoa like aroma. Full silky creamy body with soft carbonation. I loved this!!!

Pours a dark black with tan head with good retention and has heavy lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, espresso and whisky. Miley bitter with a boozy sweetness. Woody, chocolate , hint of black cherries. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Long smooth subtly boozy finish .
