4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours black with a thick head and a smoky aroma of vanilla, coffee, toffee and caramel. Starts very sweet in the mouth, then the booze comes on strong but is balanced by the sweet caramel malts. Coffee is present throughout, more than in most other stouts. Delicious beer, but very boozy so take in small amounts.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, release #17. Pours black, with a brown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, and vanilla. Flavor is coffee, vanilla, bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate, and dark fruit. Medium body. Rather long finish, with some bitter coffee elements. Really good, but a little more bourbon would make it better.

Pours from tap was black with creamy tan head that was quite short. Not quite sure on the vintage that I tried. Aromas are big coffee at first, then the bourbon comes in. Flavors are dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, and a tinge of vanilla. . Bourbon wasnít very present in taste

Release #23. Aroma is boozy and coffee. The flavor is fantastic - chocolate, coffee, booze, vanilla - all in great harmony. No flavor is overpowering and they all complement each other perfectly. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, mild carbonation. Really great beer - so glad that Epic is around in WI now

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Release #27 at 11.5% abv, randomly stumbled upon a bomber, pours pitch black with a thin light brown head, some legs in the glass but nothing crazy, aroma was of heavy coffee and chocolate, a slight touch of whiskey and vanilla, but dominated by coffee more than anything, flavor is like a melted chocolate coffee bar, booze really comes through too but isnít overpowering, man this thing is sweet, but the coffee does even it out some for it to not be overboard, mouthfeel is a little lighter than I was expecting, but geez, good beer.
