22oz bottle purchased at Total Wine Laguna Hills Nice looking pour, black with a one finger tan head. The aroma is predominantly of coffee grounds and the flavor has notes of dark chocolate, roasted nuts with some vanilla in the background. It has a nice creamy texgture

Pours a dark black with tan head with good retention and has heavy lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, espresso and whisky. Miley bitter with a boozy sweetness. Woody, chocolate , hint of black cherries. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Long smooth subtly boozy finish .

Weekend bottle share, aroma is some chocolate and coffee, taste is whiskey and tons of chocolate, some nibs, a little chalky finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Jet black pour with a single finger espresso head. Aroma is full of chocolate and bitter coffee. Very dry for the style. Just a hint of booze. Lace present.

Bible Belt and now Big Bad Baptist? It’s official. If an Imperial Stout has a name with a B-letter alliteration related to something scary and religious, it’s going to be awesome. Apparently. Because Big Bad Baptist is awesome. It’s equal parts roasted coffee and sweet chocolate. It’s black as my heathen soul and velvety smooth. Big Bad Baptist is full-bodied and has plenty of booze, but it disappears all too quickly. In that way, it’s probably the exact opposite of an actual Big Bad Baptist...

Bottle. A- Coffee, mocha, cocoa, malty, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Coffee, cocoa, chocolate, roasty, slightly bitter. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- I expected pretty good things here but this was fantastic. So very smooth and balanced and full of coffee and robust flavors and aromas. I don’t know that there was much wrong with it, if anything at all.

On tap at The Lackman, arrived in a snifter. Appearance: Your usual imperial stout impenetrable black, capped with a dark brown head that dwindled somewhat quickly to a cap and ring. Lacing was patchy but persistent. Smell: Chocolate, and quite a bit of it, riding atop a wave of coffee and caramel. Some hints of spice as well. Taste: This has some over the top intensity of flavor. The aforementioned chocolate is present in spades, alongside French roast coffee, burnt caramel, white and black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, and a slurry of dark fruits. Some wooden, vanilla, and almost chile-like undertones waft along through the background as well. The finish is sour dark fruit, bread, coffee, and oak. Mouthfeel: Thick, full, sticky, and rich, this is definitely an imperial stout. Overall: I’d have this again were I to come across it. I’d have just one, but I’d still have it again.

I’m having this beer after a long day at work and damn is it fine. Pours dark as dick with minimal head. The coffee, cocoa and barrel aged flavors were so beautifully paired I had to punch the wall just to bring some disorder into my life.

Tap. Black with small head. Very rich malt with huge coffee. Mild bitterness in the finish. Complex and very tasty.
