3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Uber. July tick-a-thon continues. Gonna get to 1000 4oz at a time. And 4oz seems just about right for this one. Pours dark brown, opaque, with creamy khaki head. Aroma is cheap diner coffee with a generous squirt of Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Taste is much the same. Quite sweet (at least compared to the quite dry George! that preceded it), with chocolate syrup and a bit of stale coffee in the finish. Palate: full body (but not as full as the last one), slick oily texture. Overall: damn, this is a chore even to finish 2 oz. Nothing appeals to me about this, actually -- so so sweet, with really gross stale cold diner coffee at the end. No, I’m going to take a stand -- fuck this, not worth the calories or the sick feeling in my stomach.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a thick, murky black with a tan/brown head. Nose has some great cocoa and roasted coffee bean notes with a bourbon presence as well. I really love the nose on this one.
Starts with some nice cocoa notes. It’s a bit bitter on the tongue with some toasty coffee notes. Some bourbon notes present in the mouth as well. Finishes with some smooth coffee notes and a bit of booziness. Drinks incredibly smooth given the high alc content. This is far and away on of the best stouts I’ve had. There’s a lot of complex flavors present, all working in sync to bring you a great beer.
