A decent stout with dark chocolate and coffee finish. The beer tastes like Speedway stout except this beer has a slight metalic aftertaste. I’d give this beer a 6.5 out of 10.

Release #36 12.4% abv Brewed 12/2013. Barreled & then bottled 9/2014. Drinking 9-21-16 for 65th birthday...Unabashedly coffee forward with underlying chocolate base. Roasted malt harmonies. Still slight but delicate bourbon nose and vanilla whispers, not much as I’d like, but still tantalyzing, much like the brief whiff of the perfume memory of a long lost love on the night wind, a heartache that floats for a moment to the surface only to slip quietly away once again. The scent of old leather, like a library of well loved books and subtle hints of latakia tobacco, war stories of brothers-in-arms, and the night falling inward with its dark embrace.

Rating #2141 - 2015.10.31 - Black as the belt of a bible thumping Albertan in a karate class, with a weak tan head that caps nicely. Aroma is heavy roast malt and dark roast coffee, molasses. Huge cocoa, espresso notes, Taste is heavy on roast malt and coffee flavours, pronounced sweetness, well bittered. J.

Bomber from Casa De Oro. 12.3% version.Pitch black in color. Sweet roasty coffee notes up front along with a bit of whiskey. Whiskey and a sugary roast up front. Decent amount of whiskey throughout. Just a slight hint of alcohol. Very smooth and easy to sip. Quite well balanced. All of the flavors seem to mesh really well. Good brew.

Release 13, opened 9/2/16. Surprisingly amazing after this long in the bottle and not-perfect cellering. Still has subtle coffee notes after 3 years. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Awesome. On tap at brewery over summer with its son. Just a solid ba stout. Chocolate coffee dark fruit bourbon. Warming. Not smooth palate for a big boy. Great stuff!

Pours thick and dark in the glass with a nice dark head. Almost a motor oil beer, but not quite. Aroma of dark bitter chocolate, cream and dark fruit. Dark, sweet chocolate flavor with some cream, coconut and coffee. Smooth and creamy on the tongue with no alcohol taste. Very good beer if you are looking for a thick, powerful, flavorful stout.

22 oz bottle at the ISKTR 2016, Hervanta, Finland. 11.7%. #39. SLC #2142. Courtesy of tiong.
Black color with a small tan head. Chili, coffee, roasted malt and vegetables in the aroma. Strong roasted malt, sweetness, vanilla and coffee in the flavor. Rich.

Pours very thick and dark with a thin caramel head. Strong aromas of espresso coffee and dark chocolate are immediately present; same goes for taste. Looks like burnt oil. Taste of coffee, dark chocolate, roasty burnt toast, with a little vanilla and some dried fruits way back. Really good beer, reminds me of the Rasputin and Narwhal, both great beers. Alcohol is present throughout.

@ISKTR 2016. Release #39, SLC 2142.

olio (9278) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 20, 2016
65 cl bottle (11.7% abv) @ ISKTR 2016. Release #39. Bottled on 20.10.2014.
Pours black color with a reddish tint and a small off-white head. Cocoa and coffee on the nose, mild bourbon, ash, tobacco, wood. Flavor is chocolate, bitter coffee, mild chili (maybe old coffee), cocoa, vanilla, licorice and bourbon dry notes, subtle chili maybe on the finish. Refined, the coffee might have gone old already.
