The beer is pitch black. Smells of cocoa and booze. Heavy chocolate from the cocoa nibs. Perfect carbonation delivers a buttery alcohol blast. ---Rated via @BubOhioBeer

Espresso aroma, pours a thick black color, no head, beer sticks to the glass. Mostly coffee flavor and chocolate. Excellent.

Are you kidding me? Are you f-n kidding me? This beer is the most epic beer of all beers. A pitch black color with a tan head. The aroma is chocolate, espresso, caramel, and vanilla. The flavor is perfectly balanced with some german chocolate cake, espresso, coffee, and caramel. The aftertaste is somewhat sweet but the bitterness from the coffee balances everything. Is it sacrelig to say better than Dark Lord or Expedition? This beer probably is!

chocolate, roasty, coffee, heavy, savory, full body, the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate, higher ABV without affecting the flavor; best stout I have had to date

Both bourbon barrel and coffee stouts are among my favorite styles. This one merges them to perfection in my opinion. Iím not sure why this beer hasnít garnered more attention. I think it definitely deserves it. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys these styles and I will absolutely be seeking more out myself if/when given the opportunity. Fantastic!

Bottle. Pours a thick and almost-black color with effectively no head. Strong coffee notes to the nose that arenít harsh at all - just inviting. Taste has some amazing chocolate and coffee tastes to it, and just feels so smooth. AMAZING beer.

THOUGHTS: Wow. Just an incredible beer. Nearly perfect. Definitely one of the best aromas from a beer Iíve ever smelled. Hid alcohol incredibly well until the finish It had a lot of things going on, but the coffee was the real star. All I can say is that is smelled and tasted like freshly crushed coffee beans. I could have sniffed this all day long. It also went great with a Dutch chocolate muffin. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark brown that was basically opaque black in the glass with an small, tan head that mostly diminished and left fair to good lacing. The aroma had tons of coffee. There was heavy strong coffee; less dark chocolate; a little burnt malt; hints of whiskey that increased as it warmed; vanilla; cigar tobacco; freshly crushed coffee beans; coffee with cream and sugar; and light alcohol. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet; while the finish was heavily sweet, lightly bitter, slightly acidic and ever so slightly sour. It was like chewing on coffee beans. There was very strong-brewed coffee, crushed coffee beans, Hersheyís Special Dark, chocolate syrup, hints of vanilla, coffee with cream and sugar, a little whiskey that grew as it warmed, a little burnt malt, a little sour coffee and dark fruit, and dark chocolate cherry cordials. There was something a little funny in the finish and it did become slightly cloying by the end. The medium to full body was rather oily with soft, but tingly carbonation and a moderately alcoholic and lightly astringent finish.

Great Beer!!! Was not expecting how smooth, but thick the beer would roll across my palate. Nice tight beeds of carbonation. This is a party of melo- exploding flavor in your mouth. If you like RISís then get some. Amazing
