Pours like an oil can. Thick and black and syrupy looking with a small brown head. The aroma is strong espresso. It smells like coffee beans to me. The taste is COFFEE. Thereís also a good amount of alcohol going on here. The coffee is extreme but not over the top. Iím not usually a fan of java / coffee stouts but this is pretty well balanced. A good beer that Iím glad I tried but a bit too much coffee for my taste.

Big bad baptist, like most religion is strong with a bitter aftertaste. Works much better with beer. Thick pour with tan foamy head. Hellfire roasty and good mouth feel. Will invite this baptist to my barbecue

Tons of cocoa aroma with a bit of whisky/alcohol in the background. Pours thick black with a tan head. Bitter coffee flavor with an oaky/chocolaty finish. Good stuff!

Black pour with a thin off white head .... Aroma is awesome and of coffee, dusty chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, bourbon and light oak .... Taste is of coffee, dry oak, bourbon, vanilla, roasted malts, rich chocolate and dark cocoa .... The balance of the flavors is what I love about this brew ... Finishes dry and oaky with lingering coffee, roasted malts and cocoa with light bourbon and slight warming .... Sessionable for almost 12%

Pours jet black from the bottle, with a thin light brown head. This just looks like a big bad beauty. Aromas of dark chocolate, some smoke, slight metallic, bourbon. Palate opens big, with only a very small booze kick throughout. Big chocolate, cocoa; the wood opens up as it warms. Good, not great

Soy sauce color, aroma and taste, with some cardboard notes. Very rich chocolate, not too astringent, but warming alcohol throughout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Pear Delicatessen & Shoppe, Seattle; Release #34, 12.7% ABV; Whiskey Barrels
Pitch black color; the beige head is not very persistent. Strong coffee and roasted malt aroma, a bit earthy and creamy. Strong body, but also with strong alcohol perception; modrately sweet; the flavor is very strong, roasted malt and dark chocolate in equal parts, then coffee; a bit more silky in the final, this could be the Bourbon, and with an alcohol kick.
Excellent.

Very dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma coffee and chocolate. Full body with creamy mouthfeel and some booze in a good way. Cocoa flavor, some coffee, roasted nuts, very smooth and drinkable, sweet but balanced, nice.

Bottle from whole foods with a thick frothy beige head with plenty of lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, whiskey barrel, coffee, and molasses. Very smooth and somewhat fluffy medium-full bodied. Taste is full of bitter coffee and boozy barrel with some, pepper?
