Brainless Belgian-Style Golden Ale is has a rich and complex malt flavor balanced with a little bit of spicy noble hops and strong influences of fermentation esters from the Belgian yeast used. Various Belgian like Rock Candies, hops and grains are employed to express variations within the style. Deceivingly drinkable, some liken theses ales to the Devil sneaking up on you, so consume responsibly.

Thank you gentlefolk! Sampled 650 ml. bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Presumably 2 years old but no dating. A Belgian-style should handle some aging usually right? It was kept in a fridge for nearly the whole duration. Nose is golden, with a crazy amount of floaties, little white bubbles for a head. Watery nose, cold water, iron, spoiled yeast, rotting dough,… Taste is old nasty rotting dough & yeast, ditch water, iron, hay, chemical, spoiled soy cheese,… Thin, watery, rotting, metallic,… Awful really. Totally past it, let us hope that it was the age but a beer really shouldn’t deteriorate that badly that quickly now should it esp. in this style?

Bomber bottle poured a clear golden hue w/ small quickly diminishing white fizzy head and minimal lacing. Sweet fruity almost apple aroma. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a light bitter finish.Tastes are fruity banana esters, white grape, apple, and Belgian yeast. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation, and a dry warm finish.

from Erzbierschof - clear golden-blond beer under a long lasting white foam; estery and spicy aroma with strong notes of ripe fruits; a fair sweetness, aftertaste of marzipan, ripe yellow fruits and yeast

10 oz goblet at the brewery. Pours gold with active carbonation. The nose is phenolic with clove up front and hints at ripe fruit, coriander, banana, pepper and hay. The body is full with a well rounded and balanced sweetness. The alcohol is hidden. It’s a touch too clovey for me, but it isn’t obnoxious. Plenty of yeast notes play off the sweetness, giving this a fruity, spicy character. It finishes with a nice spicy note to balance things out. This one is pretty good, certainly for the price.

Bottle, release #74. Pours an incredibly clear gold with a high, medium-grained, white, lacy head. The nose has malic, phenolic, and yeasty elementsl, along with a biscuity, toasty undertone.Sweet at the front at the tongue -- surprisingly so -- right in the apple/orange range, and that sweetness never really lets up, though there’s some bitterness on the midpalate. There was a heavy hand with the rock candy sugar, to be sure. Finish is mellow and, yes, sweet. Not bad if you’re into the sweet stuff, but I have a little disconnect between the color and the RS.
