Brainless Belgian-Style Golden Ale is has a rich and complex malt flavor balanced with a little bit of spicy noble hops and strong influences of fermentation esters from the Belgian yeast used. Various Belgian like Rock Candies, hops and grains are employed to express variations within the style. Deceivingly drinkable, some liken theses ales to the Devil sneaking up on you, so consume responsibly.

Tap @ the brewery tap room. Pours a clear golden beer with a small white head on top. Aroma is yeasty and bready with some, faint buttery touches in the backend. Flavour is very sweet, alcoholic with decent carbo and a slight herbal note. Medium short finish.

Bottle from Utah Liquor store. Pours golden with a thin white head that disappears quickly. Its got that Belgian yeasty thing on the nose. A little sweet on the tongue. Finishes clean. Hides its alcohol well. Solid but not as robust as others in the style.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2013 On tap at Tadgs. It poured a clear amber with minimal head but a decent body. A caramel tasting amber colored beer. Sweet and fruity! My favorite of the night!

Release 55 8.7abv. Medium clear orange some white head. Smells of mainly of apples then booze, lemons and tart yeast. Some funk and dusty spice too. Tastes mostly of bready yeast. A bit too sweet/plying because of the candi. Like a wheaty sweet tripel. Tasty, but overpowering and a bit out of balance.

8.3%. Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Palate softish. Creamy malt with a trace of honey. A tripel like sweetness. A little peach and a touch of paper. Finishes semi dry and a fruity tang in the aftertaste. Not bad.

bottle. Golden with one finger head. Sweet and slightly boozy, but still quite easy to drink. A little bit light on flavor however.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2014 651 ml. bottle. Release #55. 8.7% ABV. Pours a medium, poorly retained, white head over a clear dark gold (SRM 7) body.....nose is pale fruits (pear, apple) light spice (clove, allspice).......taste is moderate sweet candi sugar to start, then light pear, apple, with hints of allspice, cardamom, light pepper, leading to an almost dry slightly bitter finish.....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, alcohol warmth present, carbonation medium. This falls within the style, but would be better with more attenuation. The sweetness is a bit dominant. This style is supposed to have a huge, lasting head, with on going effervescence. This beer has neither. BJCP 8/2/14/4/7. Release #74 Den 1554 has 9.3% ABV. The sweetness is utterly overwhelming. Greater attenuation is essential.

Bottle shared by Jayhawk 73. Thanks Jeff. The beer is mildly hazy and dark straw yellow with a half inch of white head. Lasting retention with lacing clinging to the glass. The aroma brings Belgian yeast, fruity esters, oranges, citrus. A bit sweet with some forward alcohol notes. Oranges soaked in booze with Belgian yeast. Medium bodied and relatively smooth. Decent, though best in small quantities. A good bottle for sharing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bubblegum Belgian yeast aroma; lemon, spicy, earthy. Similar flavors, with more clove spice character in the flavor--plus sweet, light biscuit-y malt, and a subtle floral flavor. On the sweet side for sure--but a nice flavor.(Release #53)
