COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brainless Belgian-Style Golden Ale is has a rich and complex malt flavor balanced with a little bit of spicy noble hops and strong influences of fermentation esters from the Belgian yeast used. Various Belgian like Rock Candies, hops and grains are employed to express variations within the style. Deceivingly drinkable, some liken theses ales to the Devil sneaking up on you, so consume responsibly.

An unfiltered golden ale with a thick white head. Very mild and sweet, silky palate. Taste is subtle, honey and raspberries over a sweet maltiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy golden color, moderate head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is yeast, lightly spicy, pale malt, lightly sugary. Medium bodied, moderate to low sweetness, alcohol hidden well.

Draft at Barrelhouse 101. Nose is candisugar, cloves, bubblegum, and raisins. Hazy amber with a small beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet, spicy, and only a tiny bit of bitter.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a snifter and a tulip. The appearance and smell were basically the same in both bottles. The appearance was a nice looking hazy yet glossy burnt orange to ruddy brown color. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess coating the top of the beer nicely. The head gracefully died at a nice pace leaving a nice clingy light foaminess around the sides of the glass. The smell had a nice authentic Belgian spiciness intertwining itself in between sweet malts and even letting in some light oranges to intermingle and dance underneath my nose. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors and seemed like it was almost perfectly blended into a really nice flavoring all around. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a sessionability that wanted to show but alas, it could not prove itself to be so. No worries as a sipper, this one danced around my palate skirting a sharpness to pummel but still allowing a nice gentle rolling smoothness every now and again. Overall, this was an absolutely wonderful offering from Epic more than worthy of having again.

(bottle - 22 oz - batch #35) Clear gold pour with a thick white head. Light spice and yeast aroma, Some hops under it as well. Sweet at the start of the flavor with a mild spice an yeast followup. Not much in the way of hops. A bit bland and unexciting.

On tap at the Denver brewery. Pour is clear golden with a small white head and decent lacing. Musty, phenolic, light banana, white pepper, herbs, biscuit, grass, lemons, and honey in the aroma. Taste is biscuit, wax, phenols, basil, coriander, Belgian yeast, and fruits with a slightly spicy finish and alcohol on the backend. Light body with medium carbonation. Not bad.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4843) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 24, 2014
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright apricot color with a small soapy-foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was faint and tangy with notes of bread, chamomile and a hint of alcohol. The flavor was tangy sugar, bread, honey, a hint of chamomile and a hint of golden fruits. Medium length tangy sugar, honey and chamomile finish. Moderately full bodied. Disappointing.

This one poured a mild orange colorw ith a small off white head. Aroma was of straight caramel malt and honey, no sign of alcohol or anythign resembling finshed beer. Falvor was the same,s ticky sweet, straight caramel and honey, tastes like unfermented mash. Just bad.

Bottle shared thanks to frothingslosh. Poured a cloudy golden orange color without any head. Aroma is of unfermented mash. Something had to be wrong with this one. The taste was sweet like honey. Under attenuated or not attenuated at all.

Release #51. 9.2%. Slightly hazy, maybe a pinch filtered bright orange tan. Thin, steady white head. Pretty decent, maybe leaning a little too much into the candi sugar. Captures the essence of the style, sans the champagne carbonation. Very nice malt depth, golden rich rivers, smooth and clean, yet massive and powerful. Good stuff.
