3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz bomber. Release #7. I am normally not a fan of BIPA’s, but I have to say this one is pretty drinkable. The spice/yeast combination was muted, allowing the taste to shine through.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22. Pours a murky dark amber, closer to brown maybe. Dense creamy white head that sticks around to the bitty bottom. Lots of lace. Big bright grapefruit, orange, and tangerine nose, bit of pineapple. Explosively showcased SAW-type hop blend. Creamy medium body with pleasant and perfectly placed moderate carb. Lightly toasted caramel underneath a great citric and tropical, oily hop was at the finish, leaving more on grapefruit at the end than resin. Wonderful IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow, 2/28/14
Aroma: The nose is Belgian yeast, spice, fruity hops, and little pine
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a frothy off-white head
Flavor: The taste is much the same, yeasty and spicy, light sweet, medium hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has an average carbonation, and a dryish finish
This is pretty solid, on-style example of a Belgian-style IPA. The Belgian yeast flavors and the hops are both noticeable and work nicely together. Very drinkable. Very solid.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Woodmans in Waukesha, release #11 - no idea how fresh it is although Epic just arrived in WI. Pours a muddy orange with an off-white head leaving a nice head with a lot of sticky lacing. Aroma has spices and citrus and pine, dominated by the belgian yeast. Taste is of sweet fruits, tangy spices, some resin and some toffee malts. Fruity and yeasty. Medium bodied and quite dry. Finishes sweetly spicy with light bitterness. Spicy dominated by the yeast, but with some other quality stuff too.

Tap at Dig. Great nose of grapefruit, Belgian yeast, spicy, lightly tropical. Cloudy deep golden color with a fine head. Nice fruit flavor, mango, geapefruit, peach. Minerally, dry finish. Light bready pale malt. Good American-Belgian IPA. Finish is a bit harsh though, very bitter.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Release #11 Pours unclear strong orange, fairly lasting, good lace. Medium to white frothy creamy white head. Aroma is west coast hoppy; fresh, yeasty, fruity, citrus, light spiciness. Medium body, creamy super smooth. Very pleasant moderate bitterness balanced with just enough sweetness. Among the better IPA’s I’ve had.
