4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Citrus/apple fruit; spicy; biscuit/cereal malt; some banana-like yeast character. Sweetish flavor, which comes through more in aftertaste (wonder if they used the Westmalle yeast?). Firm bitterness. (Release #2)

Tap at Wurst in Portland. Light orange with medium white head. Citrus funk. Heavy resin hop with the citrus. Sticky and cloying. Full ipa in body and taste. Does the job.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pretty much spot on for the style. Has a huge frothy off-white head and lots of lace. Aroma is mainly fresh hops, some malt, and spice. Flavor’s classic Belgian IPA.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Release #38 from the brewery watching the National Championship game. Pours a cloudy hold color with a big fluffy white head. Huge aroma of sweet oranges and grapefruit plus some pine. The flavor has some sweet malt balancing the resin bitterness. Nice IPA.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very hazy, dark golden orange color with tangerine edges and a two finger pillowy white head that very slowly settles into thick, lasting ring. Really good retention with large chunks of soapy lacing left behind.
Dank, floral hop aroma with lots of earthy, resinous pine and hop oils countered by citrus/tropical fruit notes, pale malt and estery light fruit notes. Grassy pine needle followed by orange peel, grapefruit, bread, biscuit, apple, pear and cracker. The Belgian yeast notes are subtle but come out a bit more as it warms. Smells more like a standard American IPA with earthy and sweet hop notes countered by a pale malt backbone.
Medium bodied with a blast of dry, sticky hop bitterness that lingers over the sweeter notes, Belgian yeast and pale malts into a bone dry finish. Earthy, resinous and bitter with lots of dry hop flavor followed by subtle sweetness with some grapefruit and orange peel, however, the citrus/tropical fruit character isn’t as strong as the nose suggests. The Belgian yeast flavors are stronger than they were in the aroma with hints of bread, apple, pear and bubblegum. Sweet malt backbone balances things out with some caramel and toffee sweetness along with bread, biscuit and graham cracker. Subtle heat in the finish but it doesn’t affect the drinkability. Overall, this beer isnt anything out of the ordinary but is a pretty solid offering from Epic. The hop flavors are decent but are slightly one dimensional and overpower the Belgian yeast notes a but too much for me. Still, I enjoyed drinking this and got through the bomber pretty quickly.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours straw with thin head. Aroma is big on the Belgian side: aromas of orange peel, coriander, white pepper, hint of banana; rather bready. Taste is where this experiment starts getting complex: it’s bitter, piney, but has that Belgian yeast with the orange and coriander. It’s exotic and different, and infinitely better than any Belgian/IPA I have tried.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy gold, with ample and long lasting whitish tan head. Aroma of fruit and hops. Taste is rich and well blended, slightly sweet in back. It is, as advertised, a Belgian style IPA. It is better than I expected. Thumbs up....

Bottle. Cloudy, deep gold/orange body with a big, frothy off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma of orange, citrus, lemon, spice, light clove, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Starts sweet, finishes with spice and bitterness.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Slightly cloudy golden with a thin foamy and very Lacey white cap. Lovely aroma of fresh cut grass and slightly fruity Belgian yeast esters, and a touch of tangerine. Lovely flavor, just lovely, with flavors of grassy leafy hops, clean pale malt, a bit of floral resiny flavors with low bitterness, maybe a touch of dandelion, and finishes dry and slightly dusty and estery. Very delightful.
