3fourths (7858) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 29, 2013
bottle. lightly hazed dark honey-colored body with a small, creamy off-white head. mostly typical aroma, american hop pine resin / citrus fruit with a moderate touch of burnt caramel syrup and a hint of some Belgian yeast esters (which with some mint and shallot-like hop scents, seems to come across as a burnt toothpaste and herb smell). very soft velvety texture, nice to experience, but there’s a scorched butter and mint flavor throughout.

Bottle from Savor Market. Amber pour with white head. Aroma of lemon, floral, yeast, spice. Tastes are Belgian yeast / spice, zesty, orange, resin, sweet malt. It’s good - but I’m not that big a fan of these belgian ipas.

backdaft (200) - Menasha Red Light District, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 18, 2014
Bomber. Pours a thick cloudy orange in color with a nice 2 finger head that lasts. Sheets of lacing cover the glass. Aroma is a nice dank fruity yeasty happening. While the flavor is citrus hops and some light Belgian yeastiness. Medium body with a somewhat dry finish. Very drinkable

Bottle from Andy with him and James. Really nice aroma, fresh and piney. Fresh hoppy palate, light bitter, very enjoyable. Good stuff.

jredmond (5200) - Manhattan, New York, USA - JUN 13, 2014
Bottle courtesy of Andrew shared with Andrew and Brendan. Pours a hazy murky orange amber with thick off white cream head and lace that lasts throughout. Nose is great - funky grass, moss, earthy hop, lemonade, cinnamon and Brett funk. Surprised that there’s no Brett in here. Mouthfeel is smooth with ligh prickly carbonated finish. Overall, the flavors are more muted and rounded out but very nice overall. By far the best "Belgian" style IPAs.

tmoreau (2284) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUN 12, 2014
Shared bomber poured to snifters, showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a modest layer of gradually reducing, off white head foam, and clingy spots of lacing. The nose was lightly dank, subtle, yeasty funk, and fruit that was mainly citrusy in nature. The taste was similar, with a light to medium body, soft carbonation, and moderate hop bitterness that lingered with a touch of dryness into the finish. A little more spritz would have been appreciated, but otherwise, a nice, representative Belgian IPA.(which should be on the style list as a separate entity)

MIBRomeo (2537) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 3, 2014
Copper to orangy pour with a nice white well laced head. Aroma is lightly spicy hops almost an allspice note some grapefruit and some lingering notes of pepper. Avg palate. Flavor is sweet up front then quickly bitter fruits with some spice and a hint of tart. Pretty decent IPA a little overly one sided bitter in the finish.

Good flavor, nice hop profile. Not much of an aroma but could just be my nose

Bomber @ Owl Bar. Clean amber with luscious head. Aroma is earthy, small amounts of orange, some resin. Taste is pine needles, lemon hops, sourdough and barnyard funk. Bitter finish.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Yeast and light spice aroma with grapefruit. Yeast and light spice flavor. Medium bodied. OK bitterness. Yeast and spice linger with light grapefruit.

Bomber of release #14 from the brewery. Pours a cloudy orange with a tall white head. Smells like some good stuff here. There is definitely some grapefruity hops over the Belgian notes of peppers, barnyard and a dash of clove. The hops are less pronounced in the flavor, but I tend to think that some esters mask hops. The body is medium, a little sticky and has reasonable carbonation. Flavor has some banana, cloves, assertive grapefruity hops, not quite American IPA level, but definitely enough for this style. Finish is peppery with drying citrus. Very nice.
