COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Note: only batches 1-4 were in the white wine barrels, all others need to be rated under the red wine barrel entry. We took our double gold medal winning Brainless Belgian, added cherry puree and aged it in French Chardonnay casks for a secondary fermentation in the barrels. Pours a beautiful deep ruby color with a medium white head. A nice nose of sweet cherries, Belgian malts, and barrel aging.

thanks ben! dark rosy pink, creamy off white head. waxy pie cherry aroma, canned fruit. very dry with a woody tannin body that scrubs away most of the fruit.

Magnum bottle purchased at Epic. Poured into 2 glasses, first poured brilliant ruby color, no head. Second glass poured cloudy and pink, still no head. Started with a slight white bubble halo, which faded like the innocence of youth (way too soon). This beer was strange in the fact that there was prickly carbonation, but no visible signs. The nose carried cherries, estery Belgian yeast, and alcohol. The taste is reminiscent of grenadine, cherries, and minimal malt, but avoids being syrupy or hot. Finishes extremely dry.

Bottle at Brewforia Beer Market in Meridian, ID Ruby red color and nary a head but for a thin line of bobbles around the edge. Nice Cherry aroma, slightly of cough syrup, and a soft woody note as well. Flavor was a nice balance of the moderate Belgian yeast character and an up front byt not over powering cherry flavor. A little alcohol note added to the slight cough syrup flavor, but nicely done. Mild and not obnoxious, but not particularly bold and daring. Tasty.

Superdave with another Epic hookup. Bottle pours like a glass of murky cherry juice with a white head. Aroma is candied and sweet with notes of cherry, pomegranate, nutmeg and a touch of funk. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of stone fruit, primarily peach. Overall body is moderate, dry, and lightly acidic.

22 ounce thanks to douglas88. Ruby/pink color with nice carbonation. Taste is white wine driven by cherry and Belgian yeast. Little bit of tart. Very light and drinkable for 10 percent. Release #1 on the bottle.

Tasted on 12/19/10 from a bomber bottle with the AZ Crew. Thanks to SuperDave for bringing this. Pours cloudy red with an average white head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is earthy cherry with pomegranate, watermelon, and just a hint of malt. The flavor is a bit sweet cherry with grenadine, and the same bit of malt from the nose. The body is light with lively carbonation and a long earthy cherry finish.

Bottle: Pours a dark ruby red color with quickly diminishing head and nice lacing when it’s there. The nose is tart, with some nice cherry notes, light oak and a pleasing yeasty sweet note. The only downside is a big caramelly malty note in the flavor which brings this back into the ale arena. The tart belgian arena usually requires much more dry pilsner malts and more tartness. The cherries are nice and fruity, the oak is there, but not too much. Balanced and good. Could use a little more of something, but the foundation is sharp.

Aroma: Sweet cherries and light malts
Taste: Slightly tart with dry wine finish
Nice

Bottle thanks to Craig. Pours a surprisingly deep ruby color with a medium white head- the original is quite blonde, so the cherries have totally changed the color. A nice nose of sweet cherries, Belgian malts, some barrel. The flavor is more dominated by white wine dryness, some sweet cherries, malt driven sweetness. Very nice. I prefer this to the apricot slightly. Not hot at all.
