COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Note: batch 5 and all subsequent batches are put into Red Wine Barrels (the batch number is printed on the label). All earlier batches were in White Wine Barrels and should not be rated here. Release 5 of Brainless on Cherries, has a new twist- we used Red Wine (cab and syrah) barrels for the second fermentation and aging as apposed to White Wine barrels. The result, dryer, lighter body, fruit shines thru and a bit of tannin and wood notes in the finish

11/14/12. 22oz bomber shared by nulledge. Clear light red/amber pour with a small khaki head. Light cherry aroma, somewhat like cherry candy, somewhat medicinal. Sweet cherry flavor, alcohol, and more of that cherry medicine aspect. Eh.

Bottle. Pours a pink, red color with a white, fizzy head that disappears quickly. Aroma is cherries, sour, and yeasty. The taste of the cherries and the beer donít seem to mix well for me. I donít pick up much of the barrel in this one. Decent, but probably wonít buy again.

Bomber, Batch 6. Poured cloudy peach with a tall, well-retained, looser-bubbled pink-tinted head. The aroma picked up tart cherries, oak, and vinous notes accented by sparkly carbonation.. medium-skinned fruits, banana, and cloves beneath.. more vinous as it warmed up.. I really enjoyed it. The flavor opened with tart oak and vinous notes, with biscuity malts and fruit behind.. red wine and cloves around.. finished dry with cherry dust, oak, and red winey notes.... tasty stuff. Medium-bodied with higher carbonation on the palate.. very dry with good use of the yeast and the barrel.

Beautiful beer in the glass, but not terribly memorable otherwise. Hoppy with some cherry and wood flavors. Does not really seem like a Belgian to me, as it claims to be.

Bottle. Pours a pale reddish color with a white head. Has a fruity spicy yeasty cherry aroma. Fruity spicy weak woody cherry flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty cherry finish.

Bottle, release #12, 10.7%. Hazy pinkish purple color, pink head with fair retention. Aroma of vanilla, lemon, cherries, caramel. Taste is tannic cherries, slightly boozy edge, dry finish. Think I like the white wine version a bit better.

Pours light reddish with a small white head. Aroma of a bit of a cherry cough drop thing going on, a bit candyish and some sugary notes and a light malty note. Flavor starts sweet and cherry, and really just stays there, a bit syrupy and sweet, sugary. Cherry soda, hmmm not sure how this came to be, a lot of residual sugars in there, cloying.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle. Crystal clear red beer without head. The aroma is fruity Belgian yeast, cherries, alcohol, red wine. The flavor is similar with a lot of alcohol heat. Not very well balanced. I found this hard to drink.

Very interesting. I donít understand what is so Belgian about it, outside of the fact that it has cherries in it and it was aged on oak. It is listed at 10.7% alcohol, but you donít get any heat at all. It has a nice cloudy, red color and pinkish head. Itís really, really good. Subtle flavors, nothing over the top and there is a slight vegetal funk on the nose. Itís pretty cool.

Botella, batch # 12. Amber reddish colour, fizzy short head. Aroma is sweet with cherries and fruit and mild wood. Good mouthfeel. Cherry sweet fruitish flavour with some alcohol, soft.
