COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Note: batch 5 and all subsequent batches are put into Red Wine Barrels (the batch number is printed on the label). All earlier batches were in White Wine Barrels and should not be rated here. Release 5 of Brainless on Cherries, has a new twist- we used Red Wine (cab and syrah) barrels for the second fermentation and aging as apposed to White Wine barrels. The result, dryer, lighter body, fruit shines thru and a bit of tannin and wood notes in the finish

Bottle 65 cl. Label print says "Release #12, 10.7% ALC./ VOL.) Pours a hazy pinkish with a small white head. Dry cherry aroma, quite some alcohol too. Medium body, cherries really deliver in the flavour, has this marzipan touch and again a little boozy. There’s a rubbery edge to it. Not unpleasantly so. Actually a rather satisfying cherry beer - no yeastiness and not overly sweet. 100912

Dark orangeish color with a medium head. Aroma of tart cherries. Flavor starts as a mix of sweet and tart cherry before speeding into dry wheat and vinous oak. Finishes quite dry. I would never have guessed this is 10%.

I had this on draft at Rock and Fish in Laguna Beach, CA. When poured, it looks like a witbier, pale yellow and cloudy. The flavor had a nice cherry tartness.

Appearance: light red head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: sour cherries. Taste: pleasant sour cherry flavor and a bit of alcohol heat. not really a belgian fan so the cherry flavor redeemed this beer for me. Palate: thin and very effervescent. Overall: not really swinging my opinion on Belgian beers but a pleasant experience. would recommend to anyone who isn’t a huge fan of clove-y bubblegum-y Belgians.

(bottle - 22 oz) Dark red pour with a fluffy and slightly pink head. Lots of wine and wood in the aroma with some nice dark and sweet cherry underneath. Flavor is rather earthy at the start with a solid wine and cherry combination with some light woody sweetness at the end. Fizzy and leaves a nice tartness.

Dark red with minimal head that disappears quickly. Smells fruity and sour just like it tastes. Cherry stands out more in the taste. Watery.

Bottle batch #10. Aroma has notes of dark red wines (syrah is very apparent), cherries, Belgium yeast, bread malts and oak. Deep reddish burgundy hue with a small fizzy pink head that fully diminished and left no lace. Flavor is very sweet and a little tart. Palate is full bodied and watery soft. Overall a nice brew with great red wine notes and good all around flavor. I like this one better than the peaches version.

Sampled on tap at PIB, pours a cloudy bright orange amber with a small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, some cherries and doughy malt. Flavour is fruit-forward with Belgian yeast, slight cherries, low sweetness. No sourness or essentially no sweetness. Good incorporation of the cherries.
