Note: batch 5 and all subsequent batches are put into Red Wine Barrels (the batch number is printed on the label). All earlier batches were in White Wine Barrels and should not be rated here. Release 5 of Brainless on Cherries, has a new twist- we used Red Wine (cab and syrah) barrels for the second fermentation and aging as apposed to White Wine barrels. The result, dryer, lighter body, fruit shines thru and a bit of tannin and wood notes in the finish

Release #7 Bomber from Supermarket Liquors - Fort Collins. Nose is a tannic red wine, cherries, with some light notes of cloves and oak. Clear bing cherry red with a small pink tinged head. Flavor is lightly sweet, spicy, and cherries. Verry (cherry) Interesting!

Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a hazy dark orange appearance with not much head retention. Somewhat dry red wine, grape, light plum, strawberry, cherry, pretty straight forward aroma. Quite dry, light leather, tannic, dry oaky, dull cherry flavor that dries out a ton on the vinous finish. A fair amount of booze on the finish. Again, not a big fan of the Brainless series.

Bottle from France 44. Pours ruddy orange with no head to speak of. Aroma has cherry notes. Certainly there is fruit. Med + body. Flavor is very oaky and the cherry is quite firm. It is very enjoyable.

Small shortlasting fizzy head. Aroma is sour red berries, redwine, grass, wood, rhubarb. Taste is fizzy and a little harsh, woody, grass, redwine, red berries, almond essence. Medium bitterness. Not really my kind of beer.

Cloudy pinkish amber pour with a whit head. Oak and cherry aromas. Uber evervescent with mild cherry, yeast, with some muted caramel and oak back beats. Not as good as earlier batches..

Reddish amber pour with small off white head. Aroma of tart cherries, yeast and red wine. Taste of faint cherries, yeast and cheap red wine, slightly dry on the finish. Full bodied, low carbonation, just average.

22 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Release #12. Pours a hazy ruby with a small off-white head. Big cherry funk from this, with floral notes in the form of rose petal, sweet doughy malts. Underlying Belgian yeast character, but not dominant. The barrel character is fairly subdued, as well. Medium-bodied, with fairly low carbonation and a sweet, funky mouthfeel. Good.
