3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thanks to IBrew2or3 for the share. Pours opaque yellow with a white head. Nose is malt, hops, slight nail polish, and noticeble sweetness with some pepper and some apple. Flavor is sweetness, apple, and pepper. Sweetness, some yeast, and more pepper bring up the rear into the finish. Interesting beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
22 oz. Release #3, 5.8% abv. Nose is faint dry grain, stale ashes, and soured cider. Flavor is sweet grain and tart apple, with a husky-grainy finish. Some nutty rice in the aftertaste as well. Golden with a lasting ring of creamy bubbles. Light-medium body is smoothly carbonated, to the sweet side, lightly tingly and easily drinkable. Pretty much like a decent pale lager with a bit more body.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Pours a clear gold color with a thin white head. The nose is light and toasty, some thin rice and husk notes, good quality hops (which seem out of place) and an overall lager impression in the nose. The flavor is thin with a bitter finish. Very much reminds me of an asian lager, which surprises me because of the maris otter malts. Light finish, unmingled layers and some cohesion problems. I want to love it, really I do.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sorry guys, this one just didn’t do it for me. It just doesn’t have any direction or identity. It doesn’t want to know what it wants to be when it grows up. The rice is too thin in both flavor and body to support the brew, and nothing else - malts, hops or yeast take charge to give it it’s voice. Perhaps some darker malts, more agressive hopping or a more fruity yeast would help give it something to take it in some sort of direction. 22oz bomber from the brewery Memorial Day Weekend.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2011 22 ounce bottle shared by Timbo, thanks man! A interesting beer. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet grains, honey, unusual and certainly akin to brown rice. The flavor is smooth and very easygoing; rich grainy/earthy rich flavors, citrus, oranges, light hops. Very interesting.
