It’s a good looking beer this one. Rosy amber colour with a good finger of white head... and who doesn’t like a good finger? Excellent lace down the side of the glass as the head subsided. A good snort of aroma reveals carbolic soap, green grassy hops, chlorophyll, herbaceous loveliness. It looks, good. It smells good. Yes, it tastes good. Classic IPA autumn fruit maltiness, lime and lemon marmalade citrus. It isn’t as frighteningly obtuse as many Epic beers, but believe me, if you had a pint of this put in front of you, you’d happily drink it. And so would I. And another.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy pale amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity grassy hoppy weak earthy aroma. Sweetish malty grassy hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty grassy hoppy citrus finish.

Bottle at The Southern, shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear gold, thick white head. Aromas are very strong - onion and hop resin. Pine and tropical fruit on the taste, some caramel malt backbone. Crisp finish. Lovely stuff.

On tap at the Southern. Appearance - Nose - pungent fruit like almost going off. Lots of resin and earthiness. Some tangerine. Taste - loads of tangerine some spicy earth vegetables. Maybe parsnips. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a relatively fresh finish. Slightly aggressive carbonation. Overall - good ipa that verges on imperial. Overall -

Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Lightly hazy, copper colour. Film of white head. Toffee. Fresh mint. Light bubblegum (not to any detriment). Taste is sugary sweet, with the mintiness still in evidence. Fairly full bodied, with some ripe fruitiness. Light, fresh, bitterness provides balance. Nice beer, but can’t give it a massive score, on account of the fact I could have bought 2 Kernel IPA’s for the same money!

Session beer written all over this. There is nothing challenging in this, it;s nicely bitter, nicely sweet, if a bit over carbonated which moves the taste to the middle rather then the front. Nice finish. Looks great, smells great, Not one of the monster beers, and you need to drink it in the way it’s brewed, a one trick beer, which it’s pretty good at. Have another? Get in!

Nice aroma I get a caramel citrus flavor , its a nice golden color . Although the head dropped off quite quick , good lacing thou . I love the bitter after taste that a good IPA gives and this doesn’t disappoint . There’s also some nice sweet malt taste there . It’s got a nice medium feel body , slightly oily and a quick swish in the mouth brings back the carbonation , and oh the after taste . Overall this is a real nice drinkable beer . Wish I’d brought more of them

Rusty orange golden, decent eggshell white head but fades quickly to filmy/ringed. Bright, boiled cabbage and onion sweaty nose. Light and clean pine, softest tropical fruits - lightly gummy sweet. Similar softness on the fruit front, glugs of citrus throughout and crisp passionfruit. Melon/pineapple thread in the middle . Very drinkable moderate carbonation. Sweet light maltiness creeps in as it opens up, but the finish is snappy lime.

500 ml bottle from Redmonds. Light amber, thin head. Gorgeous sweet, perfume, caramel biscuit nose, floral notes. Flavour follows the nose closely, moderate bitterness toward the finish. Light enough body, slick in the mouth, fairly forward carbonation.

Really solid work from Epic. Looks and smells great, has a nice flavour profile and good bitterness. Probably the best in the series yet.
