3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle-purchased at the brewery-Aug 2012-pours hazy copper hue with a small soapy eggshell head. nose is big carmel malts, pine hops, woody notes, lite green apples, err, wait alot of green apples. flavors exhibit the green apples and carmel malts with an undertone of piney hops. wow, this is very over-rated. I cant get past the green apple notes here!!! Its too bad-this is a very well made beer however, something went wrong on fermentation. That green apple is over the top!!!!!! ugh....so sad. If this didnt have that infection, it would have been very high 3 rating. I can tell it has a nice malt and hop combo, a more malty, almost ESB-ish type of APA here. infection gets the best of it though....

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle - 22 oz - Release #32) Hazy copper pour with a thin white head. Big citrus and pine resin hop aroma. Flavor is shockingly mild. Very light citrus and hops with a slow bitter creeping up on the aftertaste. Pity.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Slightly hazy dark golden under a thin sticky off-white head. Aromas of sweet earthy toffee, toast, and grassy hops. The flavor starts with a big wave of sweet toffee, a little earthy nuttiness, lots of leafy/grassy hops, mild bitterness, and a touch of pine on the generally sweet nutty finish. Very crisp and malty strong pale ale. Big fan.

Great tasting beer. Beer like this makes me happy because it shows my city is really coming around as far as brewing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Great pale ale, as advertised better than Crompton! Overall solid aroma, taste, appearance, and palate. Epic makes better IPA’s but this works for something a little less aggressive.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured as a taster at Denver taproom. citrus and resin on nose, copper color, mostly resin on palate, lots of dark malt flavors wo/ being very dark. Finish was a little bit unpleasant for me and I think it was from the dark malt notes at the end.

Unclear / brown color. Good hoppy, full-bodied pale ale. Well carbonated. Missing a little on the hop front.
