A sweet malt-driven Americanized doppelbock with a strong fruit cup / apple / pear and cara malt core. Medium body, medium-high bitterness, pinching hops in a watery, thinning finish. Alcohol / fruit hooch, yeast chalkiness and mineral and metal notes as it warms and opens, and a sour cola and Nutri-Sweer flavor settles in.

Bomber from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. An almost clear dark amber hue to this beer. LOTS of carbonation launches from the bottom. The head is beige and is about one finger. Not a lot of aroma but it seems pretty much a classic doppelbock. After the first sip I am sold on this beer. Cocoa and caramel in the first sip is very nice. Later some citrus hops are tasted and they add a nice change of pace. Dark fruit. This becomes a liqueur and resembles the rum that is in a chocolate covered cherry. The alcohol is tasted as in the liqueur. Late I taste nuts. Ron and I both agree that this is almost chewy. It is like drinking candy. This is a really well brewed dopplebock, perhaps the best I have had.

This was release number 3, ABV 8.5% on the bottle. Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. I pours a garnet color with a medium tan head. Light lacing. Nose is a blast of rich caramel malts, and some dark fruit. Actually lots of dark fruit. Earthy. Medium in body with a very clean smooth mouthfeel and hint of the alcohol. Wish there was no hint, but this IS 8.5% so I guess some is expected. The flavor is very rich, and the rich malts and ripe fruit is augmented by some floral hops. Chocolate appears as it warms. The finish is mostly on the sweet side and is almost chewy. Nuts finally appear as well. This is a simply delicious beer and the lager smoothness makes it very easy drinking. I am really enjoying this beer.

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent light copperish orwnge with thin off-white lacing. Smells and tastes sweet and malty with notes of caramel. Nice and smooth on the palate. Enjoyable.

I tasted this beer from the bottle on 11/25/13. The bottle was refrigerated cool. The beer pours easy, and resulted in a very slight, light yellow head. The beer is a clear dark amber color. Has a malt and gran aroma with hints of caramel. The taste is slightly sweet with the malt and caramel, with a nutty and cereal finish. I really enjoyed it!

I smell yeast, molasses & sassafras. Clear orange brown with modest tan head. a peach tone among vanilla, alcohol and wheat toast, thin and drying on the mouth.. some warming. sweet & drying finish.

Clear amber copper with a thin foamy light beige head. The smell is rich with a sweet caramel nose and a grainy chewy cereal tone behind it. The flavor unfortunately has this semi-boozy cough medicine tone running through it that I’m not a fan of. There is a nice balanced earthy sweet chewy pale cereal maltiness and a touch of toast, but that medicine tone..ouch.

On tap @ Epic (Denver). Pours a clear copper pour with an off-white head. Sweet toasted malt, caramel, and a bit of dark fruit on the nose. Kind of just bland and bready. Flavor is sweet caramel, bread, and toast. Hints of cola, dark fruit, and biscuit. Mild candy on the finish.

Tap @ the brewery tap room. Pours a clear, amber beer with a thin white head on top. Aroma is caramel, booze, and big malts. Flavour is sweet, alcoholic and very big on the caramel. Long, sweet finish. Decent brew for sure.
