Release#4 9% ABV. 22oz bomber, didn’t open with much of a hiss, but it still had a nice off white head on top of a filtered ruby-amber red-brown body. A pretty well done Doppelbock certainly, captures some nice lager notes. Smooth creamy malt tones. A touch thin at times, sort of makes you wonder how it would have been unfiltered, but I imagine the way it is keeps it way more drinkable. Rich bready, fig, butterscotch, dessert finish. Really enjoyable beer!

I think our bottle was 9.2%, which ironically was the beers only real fault. Too heavy and a little too alcoholic, otherwise would be a very good liquid bread in a bottle. Rich and doughy. Loved the nose. A tiny bit lower on the taste. Oddly got cinnamon at room temp though I know there is none. Would not hesitate to buy this again."

(tap) clear, bright amber brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of stewed fruit; well balanced sweet/sour flavour, hint of alcohol, not very complex though

A nice if not particularly interesting doppelbock. Pours a great deep amber with a white head. Smells malty. Taste is malty, crisp, with a nice smooth finish. Not too memorable though.

SLC bottle. Pours a cola-like dark brown with a foamy, bubbly off white head. Nice earthy malt aroma with a faint hint of baking chocolate. Flavor has a little spice, a little booze and some bready thickness. Nice.

Light head, light color for a doppelbock. Lightly roasted malts, walnuts, earthy hops, sweet grains. Pretty mild overall flavor, hint of alcohol.

651 ml. bottle. Release #22. 8.7 ABV per the label. Pours a thin well retained ivory head, over a clear light brown (SRM 18) body....nose is light, plum, raisin, cola notes, light toasted malts, minimal hops, balance to the malts.....taste is cereal malts to start, then light plum, raisin tones, sweet throughout, finishing almost dry....mouth feel, light of medium body, sticky, light alcohol warmth, finishing with minimal acid, and low carbonation. This is a simple and uncomplicated Dopplebock which is sweet without balancing complexity. It is cereal dominated and is quite bread like in its construction. It is not crisp, but is quite filling. The recipe needs work. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6
