3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Pale golden, lots of fine sediment floating about, large frothy white head, nice lacing. Strong bretty nose, seems also a bit woody. Interesting, bretty on the tongue, some bright floral notes, and also a champagne like flavor, perhaps white wine like. A very interesting brew to say the least. Clean, a bit sweet up front, tart in the back, becoming a little dry. Also has some aspects of Cider. Body and moutheel are moderate. Hides its alcohol well, albeit it does get a little warming if you sip it too fast. Good brew, well balanced, nothing is over bearing. Wished the brett and dryness were a touch stronger tho, help with the finish.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2014 Nothing makes a beer more enjoyable then sharing with a good friend. A wonderful presence of Brett ( but not overwhelming ) mixed with lemon aromas. This beer held its head thru out my tasting. A little sweetness mixed with citrus flavors, followed by a mild dryness. What a great combination of Saison and Brett. Hardly any sourness. Very refreshing and would buy more, but a little on the pricey side. June 22, 2012.
Rls #4. 9.1% Bright luminous clear pale gold color. Like the earlier releases, with more vinous flavors

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz. bottle, shared by my bud, Joel. Pour is hazy yellow, with big white head which sticks around for the duration of the pour. Aroma is barnyard funk, citrus, with big lemon notes. Taste is bitter up front, followed by lemon and lesser citrus, with a nice tartness. Finish is tart, sour and funky with a lingering bitterness. Very nice saison. Good job on this one.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Really enjoyed this one! 14 karat pour with a nice ivory head. Musty, dusty, dirty, dank. Little peppery, touch of spice, some citrus, bit yeasty. The brett definitely adds an interesting dynamic. Almost get some sage and coriander. Delicious and refreshing!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle, release #1. Pours a hazy yellow with a smallish white head that goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing. It has quite a few floaties.
The aroma is floral brett and some slightly metallic overripe fruits and some funk.
The flavor is some fruity apple champagne with brett notes and some funk with a bit of bitterness in the dry finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, I recall this being a much better brett beer when I had it a couple of months ago. Either this bottle is different or it isn’t aging well for my tastes. A lot more sediment this time around too.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber from Sam’s, Durham. Damn, those Epic folks keep cranking out the beers. Cloudy pale gold pour, something vaguely Berliner-ish to the appearance but the rocky head and the earthy consistency remind of the saison style. As the beer settled in, it got very sedimental. And appropriately, the nose was a bit overly-earthy, with clashing notes of brett, berry, yeast, and grains. Might be the kind of thing that comes together a bit more down the road but as is I found it uninspiring.

651mL thanks to tastybeer. Pours glowing straw. Thick white foam. Sheets of lace. Nose is rich Brett C tropicals, pineapple, curaçao. Very powerful. Taste is salty, a bit papery, mild celery, lemon, orange oil. Actually not bad. Body is not dry or minerally. Pretty good stuff.
