On draught at Saraveza for the 2014 Portland Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival. Clear light golden color. Aroma is funky basement and light grape. Taste is balanced funk, white wine, berries. Fairly light-bodied sour, which is nice.

The ale really varies from release to release. Currently, drinking release #4 (about a 3.5) which is funky, fermented tropical fruit, and slightly astringent on the palate. Release #6 is far better I’d say easily over a 4.0 rating. The #6 is much more tart and more along the lines of a sour (a less aggressive petrus). Great aroma a little spicy with a very tart sour fruit taste and finish. I’m not sure about the other releases, but I’d recommend finding the #6.

I’ve never had a more brett forward ale! The aroma and taste stinks, just like us brett lovers expect. Make this in 16 oz. cans, year around, and it would never leave my frig!

Clear dark yellow beer, small big bubbled head, actually just some big bubbles floating on top, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very dirty, urine, infected stuff, sourish, overripe to rotten fruits. It doesn’t just smell weird, like the first time I had geuze, but it smells really horrible actually. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish, bit lemony, fruity, bit sugary even, which is weird, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: lemon rind, bit nasty, bitter hops, lemony, sour touch. Maybe I’m spoiled because of all the good lambics we have here in Belgium, but hey, if you’re stealing our bugs, then don’t be surprised if we compare them to our own beers as well.

Some barnyard funk. Sour apples. Mild yeast, bit of clove. Light bodied. Alcohol well hidden. Very nice!

Bottle. Pours golden yellow with white head. Aroma of mild funk. Taste is sweet with mild funk.

Tap at Garage 39. Lactic, slightly acidic nose, melon, lemon, yogurt. Clear golden color. Lovely lemon and horse blanket flavor, very clean but a bit too sweet. Only lightly sour, crisp and tasty. Good. Would probably be better if ratcheted down a couple degrees.

On tap at Garage 39. A clear light golden copper color, with a thin filmy head. Great spicy zesty saison nose. Light bodied, fruity citrus, sour, light metallic notes, Brett but the smooth Brett variant. Damn tasty stuff.
