COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Epic Brewing Company’s latest barrel-aged beer brings something new—wild yeast. This brew is a collaboration ale with Crooked Stave Artisan Brewing of Fort Collins, Colorado. Chad Yakobson, Brewmaster/Owner of Crooked Stave, is well known for his skill and knowledge in the brewing of sour and Brettanomyces driven beers. The beer was brewed at Epic by the two brewers. Kevin Crompton, Epic’s Brewmaster, and Chad spent several weeks working on the recipe and selecting the proper Brett strains and barrels for the beer to morph from a golden Saison into a Saison-Brett Golden Ale.

Tap at Garage 39. Lactic, slightly acidic nose, melon, lemon, yogurt. Clear golden color. Lovely lemon and horse blanket flavor, very clean but a bit too sweet. Only lightly sour, crisp and tasty. Good. Would probably be better if ratcheted down a couple degrees.

On tap at Garage 39. A clear light golden copper color, with a thin filmy head. Great spicy zesty saison nose. Light bodied, fruity citrus, sour, light metallic notes, Brett but the smooth Brett variant. Damn tasty stuff.

gold apple juice pour with a fast disappearing head. aroma of apple cider and white wine, horseblanket, barnyard funk. Taste of sour granny smith apple, funk, oak, white wine, funk. Lighter body but the carbonation is weak. I’ll revisit this on the next release.

That dirty wet towel smell, with a lot of citrus, the look is blonde, the taste is lemon, tart, citrus, sour. The sourness isn’t horribly strong but does leave a good linger after the swallow. Good sour beer.

Look, I like simple. It's a saison meets a sour. Get over it people. Very nice for SLC. Not as awesome as 529 or 5th element (Squatters SLC - good luck finding any) but it'll do just fine. Very alcoholic, ~10%. Plan on not remembering drinking this one. ;)

Bottle. Clear gold with thin white head. Funky Brett aroma with some fruity notes. Taste follows suit but adds some vanilla and oak with a lacto finish. Thinnish mouthfeel that lingers with moderate carb. Excellent.
