Pours. Dark black with a big brown colour head. The aroma is very strong coffee with a earthy fig mixed in. The flavour is sweet roasted Malts coffee and oats little bit of dry fruit with a bit if dry finish.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark fruits, light coconut, light spices, and some dough. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything. Smooth texture. A solid beer.

Caramel, coffee, alcohol, raisin, fig. Dark brown, minimal head. Light bitter. Medium body, sticky, soft, bitter, minimal evolution. Massive flavor note, yet lacks the complexity of a quadrupel. Nice beer for a cold day.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. The coffee is, for me, exactly like you get from the cold-drip process, earthy, rich and mellow. The sweetness carries this on a gentle carbonation. And the chocolate keeps it all together. I’m wondering if I should put on in a cool dark place to see if this gets batter with time

750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99 (Jan 2013). Pours dark brown in color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, some sweeter malt, coffee, dark fruit, fig, some earthy notes. Interesting, but I would not seek this out again.

Very nice beer. It has a great roast on the nose and a lovely look. Not the thickest stout but the flavours are beautiful and rolls nicely on the palate. Solid.

Pours a thin black with large foamy tan head. Aroma is mostly coffee, some chocolate and a mild fruity (fig?) aroma. Taste is mostly heavily roasted coffee, some dark bitter chocolate and dark red fruits. Decent stuff.

Draught at SBWF. Near black, small beige head. Tinny licorice aroma. Mid sweet with full body. Molasses, milk chocolate and tin dominates. Salty bitter finish. Too imperialized, with unwanted molasses-stickyness.

SBWF 2013. Black beer with a nice beige head. Nice coffee aroma, quite roasted, cocoa, figs, raisins, grapes, some soot, some caramel. Fresh coffee flavor, roasted, licorice, cocoa powder, figs, raisins, salty notes, some oranges. Nice body, nice coffee and raisin finish.

Poured a rich burnt umber color with a big gaseous khaki foam. The nose was of charred coffee, green pepper and windex. The flavor was a bit more pleasant but that still disjointed and plain old wrong. Some coffee notes exist but the off notes are so apparent and reference the nose enough to render it undrinkable.
