Pours. Dark black with a big brown colour head. The aroma is very strong coffee with a earthy fig mixed in. The flavour is sweet roasted Malts coffee and oats little bit of dry fruit with a bit if dry finish.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is crispy and a little dry. Smooth dark malts with a fair bit of earthy coffee. Nice fruity back end - kinda caramel prune. Dry airy finish. Nice flavour medley but a bit dry.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of coffee, fig, ash and chocolate. Flavour of flat Coca-Cola, fig and fruitcake. Dry finish. Thin to medium body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. Strong flavour yet very easy to drink.

Keg at CASC. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is rich roast, charred wood, tar, liquorice, rocky road, dried fruit, coffee and umami. The taste is bitter, rich roast, espresso coffee, tar, burnt caramel, treacle, mild acidity, ash, dried fruits and toast with a drying, toasty finish. Full body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty punchy stuff. Tasty gear.

Pours near black with a short lived brown head. Big, nutty, coffee aroma. Continues to what I’m interpreting as dried chilis, but is most likely the toasted coconut mixing with the figs. Flavor is of chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, coconut and dried fruits. In addition to the fig, I get dried cranberries, dried apricots, and raisins. The experience continues to a smooth and toothsome mouthfeel with light carbonation.

This brew pours black with a medium creamy beige head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Roast malt, dark fruit and coconut in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of roast coffee, malt, figs and coconut. The finish is roasty with a coconut coffee aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Bottle at elbernays wedding. Black as you like, coffee tan head, nose is roasted malts, figs, coffee, sweet notes. Flavour carries all the aromas, big body, soft carbonation, lush mouthfeel, no sign of the big ABV. very enjoyable indeed.
