COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Epic Brewing has been making high-strength beers in the land of low-strength (Utah). Rather than expand their operations there, they chose to open a 2nd brewery in a more encouraging state, Colorado. This is their first batch of beer brewed here in Denver. Big, fruity hop aromas.

Both can and draft version on recent Colorado vacation. The draft was far superior, but both were solid IPAs.

Can. Pours a hazy light gold with a thin head and aromas of bread and cat pee. Flavor is a bit too heavy on the malt doughiness up front and yields to a juicy light lemon finish. Starts ugly, finishes decently.

Canned. hazy gold with a medium white head that has fair retention. The aroma is soft and indistinct with a trace of pine and some bubblegum. The taste has medium bitterness that features pine and grapefruit set in a cookie malt base. The palate is full and sticky. Finishes long with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Overall: Decent, but not great.

12 oz can. Aroma is bready, grapefruit, Smarties. Pours hazy gold with a white head that falls after a minute, leaving a little lace. Taste is lightly bitter, candy sweet with citrusy hop flavor. Nice and clean, great tasting IPA.

On tap (growler) from Lowe’s Foods in Cary, NC. Pale yellow, clear, white head that sticks around for a bit. Flavor is a little bit sweet with a nice hop bite in the back. A good, easy drinking IPA.

Had it on tap at Epic Brewing. Pours a clear yellow colour with a strong head (no teeth). Sweet/dank aroma with a very smoot taste with a slight kick as you’re walking out the door.

This canned brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a softly carbonated semi-hazy with floating particulate light yellow orange colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy and floral. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of semi-sweet floral and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2016 Light to med hopping for a IPA, caramel heavy body. A bit dank. Solid IPA, but again never really goes anywhere.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.
