2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pink flying saucers over the Southern Alps. Layered sweet harmonies over jangly top notes. Heavenly.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Thanks to wombata for bringing this back from NZ. Very strong Cascade hop-like aroma with some fruitiness and a tinge of cat piss. Maybe some Saaz in the mix? Smells more like an IPA. Crystal clear gold color, really jumps out of the glass. Great deep caramel flavor balanced with the hops. Very long and nice aftertaste. Pleasant mouth feel and good carbonation on the tongue. It really seems like an IPA/Pils blend. Interesting new stuff from adventurous brewers.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle brought back by Wombata. Bright, clear golden color with a tight head. Big, clean hop nose, honey malts, citrus. Great nose. Minerally flavor, crackers, grass, hay. Strong bitterness. Not much malt. A bit thin. Nose and mouth are very different in this beer. Fun stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: Earthy, piney, and floral hops
Palate: Medium bodied and filling.
Flavor: Well-integrated flavors of earthy hop and malt. Firm, lingering bitterness on the finish (British style or NZ style? I know it’s styled an "APA," but it doesn’t finish like any American one that I know of).
Comments: Very tasty medium bodied ale with well-chosen hops. The flavors had really come together well on this one-time bottle.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I was a tad disappointed with this ale. I guess Epic and Flying Nun weren’t wanting something too "out there" for the people buying a craft ale for the first time because of the musical association, but I would’ve liked a bit more of Epic’s noted hoppiness. Pale brown in colour, rapidly fading head, aroa of a bit of hop, a bit of citrus, watery in the mouth, no great aftertaste or anything to really stick in the memory. Fairly bland, to be honest.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(bottle) Clear golden with good big white head. Lovely hop aroma - floral and citrus - with hints of peppery spice. Light body, well carbonated. Sweet and citrusy start with a good long bitter finish. Lots of hop flavours but with nice level of bitterness. Overall a very nice well hopped ale.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
For me this beers strongest point is the nose which is dominated by hoppy goodness. Little subdued taste wise, and not a punchy hop style that Epic is famous for.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours pale amber with a lasting white head.
Nose shows herbal and spicy hops with some faint bready malt.
Flavours are on the hoppy side, more herbal and spicy notes along with very soft caramel backing. Fairly hoppy finish with a bold bitterness.
