This came back from Salt Lake City and the State Liquor Store courtesy of my brother Rick. Poured a dark brown with a tan head and really big bubbles. Lots of lacing as it slowly settled. Nose of roasted malts with coffee and chocolate. Medium plus in body, with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is malty with lots of chocolate and coffee. Some bitterness in the finish. Right to style and easy drinking. I liked this one a lot.

2 oct 3012, bottle. Dark brown, clear. Nose is burnt toast, but not strong. Thin body, a bit creamy, mildly fizzy. Really bland porter. Not much roastiness, or big flavor. Just a mild session porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a fairly small head. A little bit of roasting to the nose of this, with some nice maltiness to the taste.

This is a good porter. Black with a good white head. Heavily roasted aroma. Lots of roasted grain in the flavor, with some coffee and chocolate. Thick palate. A good porter.

Draft at az wine company. Pours black with an inch of khaki foams that beautifully laces the glass. Big chocolate notes on the nose. Lots of malt and roasted notes on the tongue with some hops on the finish to dry things out. Solid!

Aroma of dark fruit, chocolate, coffee. Pours a very dark brown with large mostly lasting tan head and good lacing. Chocolate, roasted malt, notes of coffee. Bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium-light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall this is a very enjoyable dry porter with loads of taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into a pint glass. 4.0 A: Black color. Three fingers of pillowy beige head. Retention is a little better than average and a moderate amount of lacing is left. 2.0 S: Unfathomly dry. Bone fucking dry. Roastiness and a weird tangy twanginess. Needs a bit less attenuation. Like cocoa powder. Not a fan. 3.0 T: Roasty and grainy. Dry, but reasonably dry this time. Light cocoa powder again and a touch of caramel. Not great, but not horrid. Pretty much average. 4.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Quite creamy for what it is. Good here. 3.0 D: Average, drinkable, worth a try but not a rebuy. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-20-2012 21:45:50
