Aroma of dark fruit, chocolate, coffee. Pours a very dark brown with large mostly lasting tan head and good lacing. Chocolate, roasted malt, notes of coffee. Bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium-light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall this is a very enjoyable dry porter with loads of taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into a pint glass. 4.0 A: Black color. Three fingers of pillowy beige head. Retention is a little better than average and a moderate amount of lacing is left. 2.0 S: Unfathomly dry. Bone fucking dry. Roastiness and a weird tangy twanginess. Needs a bit less attenuation. Like cocoa powder. Not a fan. 3.0 T: Roasty and grainy. Dry, but reasonably dry this time. Light cocoa powder again and a touch of caramel. Not great, but not horrid. Pretty much average. 4.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Quite creamy for what it is. Good here. 3.0 D: Average, drinkable, worth a try but not a rebuy. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-20-2012 21:45:50

Adding a point because the beer gets better as it warms. Bottle poured dark brown with beige head. Malty aroma. Medium bodied, with some bittersweet chocolate. Chocolate finish with mild spicy hop

22oz bottle shared by Anndiesel. Deep red-brown, steady thin beige head. Mellow caramel, coffee, toffee aroma. Quite dry and bitter in the finish, Mellow balanced chocolate and caramel tones and a bitter, soapy, dry hop bite. On the fuller side of medium bodied, Enjoyable, well executed.

Very nice roasty aroma, with hints of chocolate. Pours a clear ruby red, with a full off-white head. Great roasted flavor, with hints of chocolate and a touch of coffee. Long, lingering roasted finish. Fairly light mouthfeel, and a bit thin. Overall a really solid porter.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy dark reddish brown color with a nice 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some decent spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, coffee, biscuit, citrus, and herbal hops. Some pretty standard porter aromas with decent strength and balance. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, biscuit, herbal, coffee, and citrus. A decent amount of herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, biscuit, caramel, and citrus on the finish for a bit. Nice evenly balanced blend of roasted and hop flavors. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy mouthfeel. Very easy and smooth to drink; with almost no alcohol warming present on the finish. Overall this is a nice and straightforward porter. Nice balance of flavors and quite enjoyable.

Pour from a 22oz bottle. Dark brew with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, a little corn-like funk. Taste is dominated by the malts - sweet roasted malts, chocolate, coffee... starts sweet and finishes moderately sweet. Thin mouthfeel. Not bad but not a standout.
