3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ben4321 (2979) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 23, 2011
Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 12/23/11
Aroma: The nose is mostly roasted malts, with hints of chocolate, caramel, toast, and dark fruit
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a foamy beige head that dissipates quickly
Flavor: Heavily malty taste, with roasted and chocolate flavors, light coffee and toast, light bitterness
Palate: Medium body, decent mouthfeel, medium-heavy carbonation, with a slightly dry and slightly metallic finish
Overall Impression:
I thought this was a fairly decent porter, but it wasn’t a standout. The flavors progress a bit as it warms, and some more character seems to rise. This is a solid Porter, but again, it is still nothing particularly great or memorable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JMerritt (1676) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - DEC 21, 2011
Thanks to my friend Caryn for hooking me up with the bottle. Dark brown with garnet tints and a medium sized light brown head. Moderately roasty aroma with definite chocolate milk and iced coffee highlights. Iced coffee/cappuccino flavor follows - lightly roasted malts with earthy hops, light molasses and mild vanilla. Lightly carbonated, and the palate is a little weak, but that’s really the only ding against it. Solid, tasty porter overall.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Capa (1905) - Manama, BAHRAIN - NOV 30, 2011
Dark with a large tan head. Aroma is coffee, roasted coffee, cocoa, and a bit of sweet malt. Full body. Flavor has a decent helping of roast malt, but not quite stout like, dry-roast coffee, cocoa, light sweet brown sugar. Finish is a bit on the dry side. The fairly big body on this porter makes up a bit for its lack of, for lack of a better word, creativity. Still, it’s a good beer and easily something I would drink again.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 cheap (3372) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 11, 2011
Big tuff beer. Pour is nice and dark, almost brown near black. Taste is roasty dark beer enjoyment. could have a few more manners but comes across rather nicely. Yes, seems like a higher alky stout. Not bad overall, a medium fine beer drinken experience. Ceramy at times. Some roasted bitterness on the finish.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 IrishBoy (3614) - Bakersfield, California, USA - OCT 21, 2011
Bomber From Utah State Liquor Store #18 Cedar City. Nose is caramel with a hint of coffee and roastiness. Clear rusty brown with a huge beige head that laces heavily. Flavor is caramel and hints of nuts and coffee. Good light porter; I could drink lots of this one if it was local.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nuffield (3347) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - SEP 30, 2011
Roasted and chocolate, with a rounded and full flavor profile that ends in an oddly bitter and somewhat disappointing finish. Moderate porter palate, in part to be expected. Bottle.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 dmac (3166) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - SEP 30, 2011
22oz bomber from EZ. poured a thinner black body under a large bubbly super light beige head. Aroma of chocolate milk lite, lactose, chocolate, grains and dust. Body is thinner and the carboantion is on the strong side with a quick fading aftertaste. Flavor is the same as the aroma with a touch more roastiness then the aroma. Decent beer but not in love with the palate on this one.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Darkover (1497) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 28, 2011
Dark red/brown color with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste is lightly sweet, medium body, soft carbonation, slick feel. Good.
