22 oz bottle, $3.99 World Market Columbus. Clear black pour; giant rocky eggshell head becomes a large ring and can be somewhat revived with swirling; very heavy alcing. Aroma is weak; "black," nutty, roast, ash, dark chocolate, yet not much coffee. Flavor also weak; nut, roast, ash; dry finish. Velvety carbonation but a little on the thin side. Pretty lame porter.

Bomber from the brewery. Pours a very dark color with ruby tints and a long lasting khaki head. Lacing is dense. Itís a really good looking beer. The aroma is solid, no complaints here. There are notes of cacao, coffee, leather, and a perfect amount of sweetness. The palate is reasonably full with medium carbonation. This is a tasty, malt-heavy, straightforward porter. Very clean roasty notes of coffee are in the flavor as well with a bittersweet dark chocolate finish. Slight woody bitterness comes through here and there. Quite solid.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a dark cola with a tan head. Toasted nut nose. Flavors of licorice and a hint of tart cherry. Medium bodied. High carbonation. Bitter roast finish.

aroma faint with slightly/barely smoky accent, decent foam retention after initial pour, flavor is above average for beer though rather bare-minimum for a porter, palate also bare-minimum. might work as a gateway beer to transition the swill-drinkers toward the hard-n-heavy stuff.

This is a very decent porter. Has the requisite coffee and chocolate, dark character, and a thickish palate.

Bottle, from a Utah State Liquor Store. Iím a big fan of the Galloway breed, but I think the picture on the label, - with the white lost on the horizon and no black hindlegs to lock it - does not do justice to its uniqueness. And neither does the beer, unfortunately. I wanted it to be extraordinary, but I got no more than a feeble aroma and a faint flavour of roasted malts, with some nutiness and ashes, and a slightly hoppy bitter finish. The beer feels rather watery. And that should not be a reason to have it only in large bottles. Iíd love to come back in a few years and re-try a much improved beer.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bomber. Dark brown pour with a frothy tight tan head. Aroma is roasty, but also something akin to lemon cleaner (but mild). Medium to slightly light palate. Decent, but not great.
