COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This wonderful hoppy lager is a new addition to our ever-expanding Exponential (Seasonal) Series. The Crystal hops give it a clean spice while the Calypso hops give it a pleasant, almost fruity aroma. Easy to drink, perfect for a summer day out.

8/5/12 notes: Bottle. Beautiful clean straw gold body, fluffy white head with good retention. Aroma is a tasteful yet pungent array of grassy and floral notes. Mouthfeel is clean, light, dry to the finish. Flavor ups the typical pilsner array of noble hops and bready malts with clear expressions of cut grass, light pith, and pressed garden flowers, finishing with refreshing bitterness. Bit of fruity esters probably from fermentation are the only (minor) issue I could identify; a superb summer drink.

Pailhead (4741) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Bottle: The aroma consists of light fruit, grass, and a hint of grain. It pours a mostly transparent light yellow with a touch of haze and a one finger soapy white head with decent retention. There is some sporadic webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with some light fruit and a touch of citrus. The finish has light-moderate grassy bitterness and a hint of lemon. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, a really nice and refreshing lager. Too bad it’s not available in more "affordable" 6-packs.

Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, grass. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120812]

Bottle-purchased at the brewery-Aug 2012-pours straw yellow with effervescent carbonation with a nice spritzy champagne white head. nose is very nice-big spicy hops, german lager yeast tones, pale malt grains (cereal) and very clean! Flavors follow suit-nice spicy hops, sweet pale malt grains, firm yet mild bitterness (spicy hops)-these dont taste american at all! Very well done! this is the perfect hot day beer! I need more of this stuff. Long grainy and spicy hop finish. Fantastic example of the style-less sweet than Shift with more hops.

Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow gold. Visible rising bubbles, creamy thin cap of white froth. Leaves a good deal of lacing.

Aroma: Unmistakable yellow beer/pilsner aroma a little skunky and wet grainy. Bright grassy hops.

Taste: Dry pilsner malt. Bitter earthy hops. Finishes mostly dry with a sour twang.

Mouthfeel: Thin with modest carbonation.

Overall: A solid, clean drinking lager. I’m not sure if I would have broken out the ‘hop pun’ on this lager, as the hops weren’t really in the forefront during my encounter with this beer.

Boutip (4669) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 15, 2012
Bottle: Poured a hazy golden color lager with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fruity hops with lightly sweet malt base is very interesting. Taste is a good mix between some floral and lightly sweet malt base with some fruity hops undertones and a light bitter finish. Body is above average for style with good carbonation. Really enjoyed this one and this is something I would drink more often if it was locally available.

Very slightly hazy golden coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall pitch white coloured head. Aroma of fresh hops, crisp caramel, lemons, a touch of hay, grass and a bit of coriander seed. Light-bodied; Nice fresh grassy and herbal hops noticeable with a very light, sweet flavour with a touch of malt, a little citrus flavour and a general airy quality that makes this go down very easily. Aftertaste shows mostly herbal and grassy hop notes with a hint of malt and even less sweetness, with almost no alcohol at all to speak of. Overall, a very nice and refreshing beer with some small hop notes and nothing bitter, assertive or troubling about this beer at all. Get this if you can find it and like lighter beers! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-July-2012 for US$3.95, Release #7, 4.8% ABV.

Bottle from Little Brothers. Bold gold body with big head. Nose is hoppy and spicy. Taste is also very hoppy, easy to drink, and a bit fruity. Lots of bitter in the nice finish. A good lager for hop lovers.
