3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 VerticalBaconStrips (1898) - Assat, Alberta, - FEB 12, 2013Oooo man. Light amber, small bubbly head that rings. Holy shit what a savage first 10 minutes put out by the Oilers vs the Stars. Malty biscuit, apricot, Rrgf, pineapple juice, maybe some caramel. The aroma dropped off big time but I still like. Slight flowery tropical note. Good taste - it’s got power but power that is under control. Huge hops balanced well with the same malts I found in the aroma. The grapefruit is in the twilight Zone between ruby red and unsweetened, perfume, Nelson memories, tropical, citrus goodness, last sip shows some spice. I dig. I think Armageddon was better, different beers.

Plenty of hoppy aroma. Smooth on the palate but lacking on the bite I expected from a DIPA.

I’m new to hoppy beers but this was amazing. Lots of floral armoa and a hint of citrus. Wish I had bought more!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 mikedR (363) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Super solid DIPA. Lighter clear pour. Strongly bitter upfront giving way to grapefruit hop flavor. Bitterness subsides throughout. Slightly sweet malt base adds interest. This one hits all the right notes!

500 ml bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of bread, kind bud, grapefruit, pine and light tropical fruit. Palate was medium to full bodied and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, pine resin and kind bud with a smooth dry bitter lingering dank citrus finish.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (9003) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours darkish gold with a slight white head. Aroma is smoothly hoppy - must be a mix - but tropical fruit and citrus are probable. Full bodied. There’s a nice caramel backbone, and there’s a lot of hop - floral, citrus rind, and perhaps pine or earthy. It’s very hoppy, but not harsh. It’s finishing very hoppy, definitely bitter, but entirely refined. Excellent.

500ml bottle from Tipplers Tap in Brisbane. Fantastic IPA right up there with the best, with citrus and pine flavours and lovely on the palate. In my opinion still didn?t knock off the 8 Wired Super Conductor, but not far behind.

Tropical nuances dominate the aromas and flavors, with layers of citrus rind and some pine sap. Nice full bodied mouthfeel. Good finish.

Clear gold frothy head,slight lace.
Good aroma with fruit, grapefruit, some mildly pungent herbal raw hop, mild floral, hot pepper like spice. Some dry toast alcohol notes.
Smooth soft slickish beer with a dry finish.Slightly salty.Hops throughout aroma like, herbal and fruit stand out more in flavor.Hop sweetness at first.Bittering is subtle but elevating and lingering but still a strong finish with grapefruit pithyness. Menthol like finish with the dry alcohol. Strong sipper.
