3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nitro tap at Neon’s, tasted on December 19, 2012. Intense piney/citrus/hop aroma, dark gold/amber hue, large head, creamy texture, creamy bittersweet flavor that’s appropriately assertive, but...I’m not the world’s biggest nitro fan. Still very worthwhile if you find it served that way but I’d like to try it "unnitroed", so to speak.

On tap at YardHouse meridian. Cloudy deep orange. Nitro white head that looked like whipped cream. Big bitter and malty. Lots of hop bitterness and decent hop flavor. The nitro adds a nice smooth feel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy tan, silky head. Nice floral bitter nose. Creeping presence of co-humulones, but balanced and appealing. Nice bitter-floral Centennial-esque hop underpinning. Some hop pellet attributes. Excellent.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear copper pour with good thin layer of offwhite head. Sweet caramel and piney resinous hop profile. Bottle might have been just a little old, which seemed to have mellowed out the hop punch just a bit, but overall, Pretty damn solid.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Pours a deep orange gold color. Thin white head leaves some spotty lacing. Light aromas of pine resin & caramel malt. Taste is more promising. Piney resin, light citrus, and a bit of sweet caraml maltiness. Medium bodied with some lingering bitterness/sweetness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy copper color with a medium white head that has fair retention. The aroma is strong with pine and cat piss. The taste is more of the same. Strong, bitter pine set in an amber malt base. The palate is full and smooth and the carbonation is soft. Finishes medium in duration. Overall: Not thrilled with this one.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cedar version. Mild floral nose, then mostly pine and herbal hops, unpleasant dry finish. Not my thing, too dry on the palate which does kill most flavors.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; release #83, bottled 12/2/2013. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, peach, floral, grass, light pine, bread, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of citrus/tropical hops with a fair amount of malt balance; and good strength. Taste of tangerine, grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, pineapple, citrus rind, light peach, pine, floral, grass, bread, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of crisp citrus rind/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, orange/lemon zest, citrus rind, light peach, pine, floral, grass, bread, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops with light-moderate malt sweetness; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and very sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice DIPA. All around good complexity of citrus/tropical hops with light-moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
