Hopulent IPA is a big beer with lots of complex malt flavor and excessive hops. This beer will have changes to the grain bill and seasonal hop changes. The character of Hopulent IPA is over the top, too much of everything—a real HOP HEADS DELIGHT!

Served on nitro tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a golden orange color with a one finger head of nitro driven foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is big of an herb and grassy hop smell along with some aromas of citrus and bread. Mixed in with these aromas comes a little bit of grain and yeast, producing a rather inviting aroma overall. Taste – The taste begins with a rather nice smooth bready and slightly doughy flavor mixed with notes of an earthy hop and a bit of herb. As the taste advances the earth and herb grow slightly stronger and then maintain a presence to the end of the taste. Along with these hops comes some lighter citrus hop flavors of a citrus nature as well as some tropical fruit sweetness. With a little bit of grain and some yeast coming at the very end, one is left with a rather nice and smooth bready and hopped taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body is creamy and thick due to the nitro pour of the brew. For the malty tastes the feel was rather nice with the creaminess actually accentuating nicely the mix of hops and malt that are present in the brew. Overall –This was a rather tasty IPA overall. I had a nice feel, hop profile and malt bill. I enjoyed this one overall. I have to search this one out on non-nitro to see what it is like with normal carbo.

Rating #1579 - 21.03.2015 - On tap at Venice Ale House. Pours a rich golden, small white head, minimal lacing. Aroma is grapefruity, pine, pastry dough. On the palate, similar citrus and pine zest, mild resin, mild pastry dough malt. Medium bodied and extraordinarily balanced. My favourite american IPA so far, lots of malt complexity and a great balance of grapefruity, pine hop notes. Superb.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2016 Hazy orange with a thin white head; hoppy aroma with strong citrus. Taste confirms that, grapefruit, fruity with a good bslance of malts and hops, booze hidden, smooth and creamy. Lovely ale.

On tap at ABV Pub in Hillsboro, OR. This was served on nitro, which accounts for some of the smoothness of this beer. Amber pour with a white head. Citrus hops aroma and taste. Smooth nitro mouthfeel. I would love to evaluate this one again on CO2.

Tap at Yard House, Las Vegas, 8th November 15. This was off nitro, giving a creamy texture, which for an IPA I was no convinced. anyway the beer was reasonable, nice bitterness easy to drink
