Hopulent IPA is a big beer with lots of complex malt flavor and excessive hops. This beer will have changes to the grain bill and seasonal hop changes. The character of Hopulent IPA is over the top, too much of everythingóa real HOP HEADS DELIGHT!

Draft - Nitro - Earthy, piny hops. Clear gold with a stunning white head. Piney with a long slightly bitter resinous finish. Body on nitro is great.

Overall a dud. Unfortunately, Iím looking at the release date now, (a friend brought this for me) and it was packaged back in November? Geesh! Get this stuff off the shelves, people! In this state, itís an orange, hazy brew with a soft white head and malty, rough, with barely enough hops to get through the olfactory senses. Iím hoping to find a fresher bottle to rate at a later time, but for now, Iím not giving it much of a fanfare.

Hazy light tan. Fairly assertive hop aroma, mostly grapefruit and lemon. Fairly dry for the style, grapefruit, modest bitterness, good balance for the style. Solid example.

Nitro-draught at Serious Biscuit, Seattle
Cloudy golden color with creamy head. The nitro cuts away some of the hop aroma. The mouthfeel is medium dry, very smooth; good malts and good resiny hops, a bit fruity and orangey too.

Poured fro a bomber (release #92). I donít see a bottled date, or drink by date. Aroma - very juicy/tropical smell. Appearance - slightly hazy orangy color. Decent amount of carbonation coming from the bottom. Taste - very juicy, dank tasting IPA. Great taste from the beginning untl the end. Palate - Keeps a great mouth feel. Nice Balance between hops and malt backbone. Overall a top notch beer. Hides the 8.3% very well.

Shared bomber, poured to snifters showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a bubbly layer of soft white head foam, and spots & strands of lacing. The aroma was lightly sweet, dankness, equal doses of citrus & pine, along with some grassiness & greenery. A little less than medium bodied, hop bitterness was moderate & lingering, the texture tended to thin a bit, and the finish was dry & grapefruity. Decent, but not overly imperial-ish.

Nitro tap at Neonís, tasted on December 19, 2012. Intense piney/citrus/hop aroma, dark gold/amber hue, large head, creamy texture, creamy bittersweet flavor thatís appropriately assertive, but...Iím not the worldís biggest nitro fan. Still very worthwhile if you find it served that way but Iíd like to try it "unnitroed", so to speak.
