Hopulent IPA is a big beer with lots of complex malt flavor and excessive hops. This beer will have changes to the grain bill and seasonal hop changes. The character of Hopulent IPA is over the top, too much of everything—a real HOP HEADS DELIGHT!

Poured pale hazy orange, like a watery hefeweizen. Smells of my Christmas tree. Tastes mildly citrusy and has a huge bitter after taste. Not enough maltiness for my taste.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2012 I get this impression that while the name stays the same this beer varies with every batch (called a release). My bottle was Release 8 (8,2% ABV) which would make it about a year old. As a result I think some of the big hop aroma had faded. Pours a hazy -orange-gold color with a big head with orange tinged bubbles. Nose of grassy, citrus, and pine hops with caramel malts. Body is medium and nice slick mouthfeel. Flavor is full of those same hops (citrus, pine, flowers) and the mats were very tasty. . It finishes with a dry bitterness. While this bottle may have had some age on it is was still very good.

On tap at the Pourhouse in Westmont, NJ. Pours a light amber that settles to a hazy light orange with a thin khaki head. Mild citrusy hop aroma. Toasted malt a bit more forward in the flavor than expected but plenty of piney, citrusy hops as well. Caramel, orange marmalade and milk chocolate play supporting roles. Pleasingly sticky texture and a bitter, dry, hoppy finish.

Pours mostly clear dark yellow under a sticky, tall, long lasting white head. Musty citrus hop aroma. The flavor is lightly bitter that stays through to the finish. A bit thin.

bottle from Triangle Wine company. release # 24. which was brewed on 7/5/11 by thier website. good aroma, sweet. citrus, orange, grapefruit, apricot. bit of wet cardboard. Clean golden orange color, ok head, minor lace. Bitter sweet flavor. medium body, creamy oily mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. it’s good, has a touch of age in the aroma, where I say wet cardboard. more of grapefruit in the flavor, kind of boozy too. not bad, now if I can catch a fresher bottle...

22 oz. bottle from Root Cellar. Pours a cloudy gold color with a small, fluffy, eggshell white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, grass, pale malts, and a little pine. Flavor of citrusy and piney hops, sweet and pale malts, straw, and grass. Pretty simple, but nice. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a balanced malty and bitter mouthfeel. Nice DIPA, and wish I had more imagination to do it justice with a more interesting rating.
