COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hopulent IPA is a big beer with lots of complex malt flavor and excessive hops. This beer will have changes to the grain bill and seasonal hop changes. The character of Hopulent IPA is over the top, too much of everything—a real HOP HEADS DELIGHT!

Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with an average rocky off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium to heavy earthy hop citrus aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy hop bitter flavor with a good bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very good brew.

Bomber of Release #10. Beautiful orange pour with a nice head. Head dissipated rather quickly and is not very sticky. Aroma of subdued citrus notes, mainly grapefruit, which is pleasing and a sort of honey-like sweetness. Flavor is very similar to the aroma. Finishes very sweet, with a nice citrus bite. Pretty nice.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2011 Our company had an evening social at Bailey’s in Richmond. This was a new beer added to the draft beer available. Not having any info on the beer, I thought it was an APA. The IPA poured a light orange color with a frothy head. The floral bitterness of the extra hops was noticeable. A well balanced IPA where the higher alcohol was not detected. Smooth finish with some bitter herbs.

22 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a clear amber color with a 3/4 finger thick off white head. Light spotty lacing. Light carbonation. Aroma is floral, citrus, and resin hops. Flavor is very hop forward with lots of esters. The hops linger in the finish, but it’s not stringent. Really coats the tongue too. Medium to full body. A real nice IPA.

Poured cloudy, orange, with a large tan head. Floral hops in the nose, citrus, some pine. The taste had a touch of sweet grains, fruit, citrus rinds, earthy, floral, and a touch of grass. Finished with a balanced bitterness.

tap at 1702 in Tucson-pours lighty hazy orange with a small soapy white head. big citric nose and floral notes-tangerines, sweet pineapple, papaya. flavors exhibit the citrus, especially when cold. its like drinking lightly sour orange juice with a bit if bitterness. The bitterness really comes through as the beer warmed, especially on the finish. not overly complex, but im sure this keg was maybe a bit old (not that punchy). bid body and lot of hops. decent.

Bottle. Pours a deep copper with an big white head and good lacing. Aroma is rich pine, citrus, resin hops with a bit of caramel malt. Flavor is piney/resin hops, with a slightly sweet malt and a slightly cheesy bitter finish. Palate is oily and bitter. It’s definitely good but in a crowded DIPA market I’m not sure if I would seek this out.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2011 on tap at papago 6/30/11 it arrived hazy (though the mugs aren’t exactly ’clean’ to begin with)... a honey tinted yellow color with a spongy dense pale ochre head. the foam leaves a ladder shape on the inside of the glass as each sip progresses. the aroma is heavy on the malt at first. after it sits about ten minutes to warm i begin to pull out notes of candied pine cones, caramel, grass, spicy hops and some onion/dankness. by the end of the glass i get a lot of mango and peachy fruitiness. malt sweetness coats the palate and provides quite a bit of depth. the richness is offset by flavors of wood, orange blossom honey, sweet yet resinous pine, yellow peaches and spice. lemon rind is noted before a medium bitter finish. the texture is slick and soft... a little too rich toward the end as i get used to the bitterness. admittedly, it is too sweet for me. killing the full 22 ounce bomber in the fridge would be a chore without a drinking partner or some spicy thai. 7/4/7/3/16/3.7

11/26/10 yellowy pineapple color with a bubbly white head. aromas of dry earthy hops, spice, pineapple, grass and mild pine. more of the same in the flavor... it is a little dank and bitter following a slight malty richness. well balanced, medium bodied and crisp. 7/4/7/4/16
